What I say is that a judge found Shockley not guilty. He had testimony and all evidence on hand in his verdict. He had a lot more than this video.
Therefore I say that Shockley is innocent. Because he IS innocent.
I’d certainly like to see that “evidence” now that the trial is over.
It’s a matter of public record. Do some research. Knock yourself out.
We have a lot of people who don’t believe in the rule of law, just look at the immigration debate.
They want to take one video where you don’t know all the evidence and facts and lynch the person.
Classic “card-stacking” technique by the Post-Dispatch.
What I say is that I’m not going to be whipped into a frenzy about white cops killing black people.
If he was tried and found not guilty, then that’s all.
If no charges were brought, then that’s all.
If he was thrown in prison, then that’s all.

The media will have more blood on its hands as soon as the first St. louis cop is murdered over this crap.
“Gets off” indicates that a guilty person got away with something. No need to read any farther, the question is biased.

Am not going to argue the fact that this dude was an ED-209 and the world is a better place without him.
However the cop showed a lack of common sense that baffles me. Even this article spoke of something I noticed on the video:
“Smith drove at speeds of up to 87 miles per hour on wet roads, endangering other drivers and pedestrians. About 45 seconds before the chase ended, police dashcam video captured Stockley saying, “going to kill this (expletive), don’t you know it.””
On this video I could not see the street because of the weather conditions so how could they??? Call the damn chase off before you kill someone off at that speed at in that neighborhood!! There will be another time to get this ED-209 I mean for real what were these cops thinking? They can call of the chase, I have heard of these things happening if it is just too dangerous. The cops even wrecked their SUV once in this pursuit.
I mean I really hate to play Monday morning quarterback with cops but from the dashcam I can clearly say they were like taxes and just did not know when to quit.
They have cried wolf too many times. They have hurt their own cause. Maybe the cop is truly guilty but at this point I don’t give a rats ass. I didn’t even watch the video. I am done.
The video looks like a bad shoot.
I am no expert but I have been watching a BOAT LOAD of “Live PD” episodes. I’ve seen this exact scenario time and again. OK, not exact to the “T”, but I’ve seen plenty of events where a cop rams the perp to a halt.
In NOT ONE SINGLE INSTANCE did the cop foolishly leap from the car and run up to the driver’s window. Not a single time. In every instance, the cops stayed back by their vehicle, got on the PA and demanded that the driver show his hands, put his hands out the window, open the door, and back toward them with their hands in the air.
On the FEW occasions where the perps refused, the cops stayed back by their car and called for additional units who all set up with guns and then slowly approached the vehicle looking at all occupants at all times, and then opened the door or bashed in the window, sometimes dragging the perp out the window.
Sometimes the perps run from the car and that is an entirely different scenario. I’m talking about the perp staying in the disabled car.
In all cases, they seemed to be following training procedures to insure their own safety and proceeded with deliberate caution for everyone’s safety.
In the video, I see rash thoughtless cops putting themselves in immediate potential danger like brain-dead untrained people might do.
Stupid. Stupid cops. Stupid idiot cops. I blame the cops 100% for their rash actions rushing the drivers window foolishly.

Actually, he was found “not guilty”. No one is ever found in found innocent in a court of law. You can be guilty as hell and still found “not guilty”. This is simply a legal term that means the evidence was insufficient to remove all reasonable doubt from the eyes of the fact finder. Plenty of guilty people are found “not guilty”. With that said, I do not know enough about this case to opine on my perception of the officer’s guilt or innocence.

I see your point too.
The cops lost me when they hit that telephone pole. To me that is when they should have called off the pursuit. Called it in as too dangerous. Another officer could have stopped the car down the road. I believe this is called an “APB”? He would have been found before days end.
Evidently the SLPD believes in mob rule.
