Former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara criticized President Trump's decision to pardon the controversial former Sheriff Joe Arpaio on Friday, saying on Twitter that it was "contrary" to the Justice Department's standards for issuing pardons.

"This pardon is contrary to DOJ guidelines, unsurprisingly. Pure politics. Wonder what the pardon attorney's official recommendation was," Bharara tweeted.....

Please show me in the constitution where it mentions Department of Justice guidelines in relation to presidential pardons. Thanks.

Given the “leadership” of Dorkbama the Muslim eunuch and his selected cadre of quota law school directors of that department, “DOJ Guidelines” must necessarily be a joke book.

So what? He’s the Prez!

Take you guidelines, DOJ, and shove them.

(I actually feel better about the pardon if, indeed, Trump thumbed his nose at the deep-throaters, I mean -staters, in the DOJ)

"Mr. Arpaio was found guilty of criminal contempt for continuing to illegally profile Latinos living in Arizona based on their perceived immigration status in violation of a judge’s orders,” McCain said.

Has McCain been in the swamp so long that he has forgotten? That the three branches government all serve to check and balance each other.

Idiot just wants to give CNN something to yap about. Trump should issue a blanket pardon of Assange, really give them something to yammer over.

Bharara is lying or misinformed. I’ll be charitable and assume he knows nothing about his former job.

1.2 Eligibility for filing petition for pardon.

No petition for pardon should be filed until the expiration of a waiting period of at least five years after the date of the release of the petitioner from confinement or, in case no prison sentence was imposed, until the expiration of a period of at least five years after the date of the conviction of the petitioner. Generally, no petition should be submitted by a person who is on probation, parole, or supervised release.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio was outside the guidelines to file a petition for pardon, but well within the scope of the President’s constitutional power to pardon. It’s a paperwork question for the person convicted, and there is no indication Sheriff Joe filed any paperwork.

Bharara was a self promoter and not a good prosecutor.

Bharara is a hack and was totally unqualified to be a U.S. Attorney. I think the name “Preet” may have helped him beat out some other underqualified affirmative action candidates.

“illegally profile”

I hope, after Trump gets a couple more constitutionalists on the SC, that he will see to it that profiling will be not only the law of the land but SOP.

It is a bit unusual to see someone who isn’t a narcotics trafficker getting a POTUS pardon.

A common theme to counter the Trump presidency. Some bureaucratic policy is invoked as gospel for why Trump is unable to exercise the powers every Preaodemt has before him. Always, always whatever a dem wants to do is a “pen and phone” away from reality. Trump so much as hiring or firing an executive appointee or hire?!?! Why it’s an impeachable offense.

Deport Ace McCain to Syria or Iraq for trial in aiding and abetting terrorist organizations.

The cancer is too slow.

The President's power to grant pardons doesn't come from The Justice Department a-hole. It comes from The Constitution of The United States of America.

You know. The document you swore to uphold and defend when you became a Judge.

A-hole.

Did I mention Bwahaha is an a-hole?

DOJ must have interesting guidelines if obama was able to pardon over 1,500 fraudsters crooks and drug dealers, not to mention Bradley Manning who stole and leaked over 750,000 classified documents
