A prominent Black Lives Matter activist accused of punching a police horse will remain behind bars for at least two more days after being arrested on her way to court earlier this month.
Shere Dore, 41, was a passenger in a car pulled over for an expired inspection sticker in her Fort Bend County neighborhood on July 6, her attorney said Tuesday. That led to her continued confinement without bail in Harris County.
"I think they're trying to wear her down," attorney Jolanda Jones said. "I think her First Amendment rights are being criminalized."
Dore was arrested July 6 for warrants stemming from a two-year-old speeding charge. She was on her way to downtown Houston for a routine court appearance, but because she was jailed in Fort Bend, she missed her court date.....

Does the First Amendment give us the right to punch horses? Or is that a racist question?
Look at the picture again.
There are no “inspection stickers” in Texas and have not had them in several years.
I wonder how much of the rest of the article is fake news?
I think she(?) is substituting 2 Coyote Ugly for black. Ironic that she got arrested for ignoring a speeding ticket from two years before on her way to court ... stupid should hurt!
Not to put too fine a point on it, but she looks like a fat Rachel Dolezal.
And if she punched a horse, I don’t care if she rots in jail on a technicality or any ole thang.
....Houston’s version of Rachel Dolezal, now known as Nkechi Amare Diallo.
Isn’t she “sort of” black or is she just a wannabe attempting to look the part?
That’s probably why she punched the horse.
Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the ugliest horse of all.
That was my poi8nt and I agree with you 100%.
What kind of person punches a horse, of all things?
I wonder if that poor horse is white.
Yeah they could charge her with terrorism, deny bail and then she can rot for 28 months in jail while waiting for trial according to SCOTUS.
Incorrect! I think you are over in Oklahoma or some other country.
You go to the inspection station and get a piece of paper which you take to the DMV and get your license plate sticker.
There is no longer an “inspection sticker.”
Lügenpresse.
If someone in Texas is selling you an inspection sticker, they are ripping you off. And if you don’t know that, you probably shouldn’t be driving any more.
The article is clear as mud. We shouldn’t have to reverse engineer news articles.
So she had a warrant out for her arrest - because she missed a court date. I get that part.
Next, we learn she was on her way to a “routine” court appearance. What was that all about? Next, are we supposed to feel sorry for her, that she missed a court appearance because she’s been arrested for an assault? What did she think was going to happen? What did she expect. I’m sure going to court sucks, failure to appear is not well received however.
Different angle from this story..........
“Shere Dore and her partner were driving to the Harris County courthouse for an appearance in the earlier case when officers pulled the pair over and arrested Dore for warrants stemming from a two-year-old speeding charge.”
“This is some clear foul play,” he said. “I think that the law enforcement agencies are colluding with each other.”
LOL!!
Okay so I read this article. She was arrested for punching a police horse, and then failed to appear, so a warrant was issued. They are suspicious because she wasn’t arrested for that, after being arrested yet another time.
Can’t make this stuff up. What dumb shits.
Yeah, at least the article points out that punching the horse is a felony punishable for up to 10 years in jail. And they expect some kind of kid glove treatment? ! I can see where cops might have kept a closer eye on a suspected felon.
