I remember some male stand-up comedian (could have been Tim Allen) say “PMS means Punch-My-Spouse”
I don’t hire women of child baring or menstrual age. Middle-aged women are far more reliable. I have a younger woman in a key position. Over the last 10 years, she’s had 2-3 month time-outs for having babies. She is off a lot due to her kids now. She’s really good at her job and everybody loves her, but I won’t do this again.
So if I identify as a woman I can get 2 extra days of vacation a month?
And these same women wonder why there is a ‘wage gap’. SMH
Medical leave shouldn’t be based on First Day of Period or periods at all. It should be based on disabling conditions.
I am fortunate that, although I had regular cycles from age 12 to 52 (except when I was pregnant or lactating) I never once had menstrual cramps. It would have been unjust to give me one day a month off for no reason, just because I’m female.
OTOH, some women really would have needed two days off. Some men with recurring conditions -— for instance, a need for dialysis, regularly scheduled therapies for muscular skeletal conditions, etc —might need more.
So, no. Not First Day if Period, but something tailored for both sexes and a wider variety of conditions.
Take a pill and go to work.
There’s a study out there that says that when women hang out together they start to menstruate around the same time. Consider a business when all the women call in crampy the same day. LOL. May they all cramp on week-ends and holidays.
Because women deserve to be treated exactly the same as men.
Come on. Everybody knows men can’t become women :)
1. This makes women seem more vulnerable/weak/sick than men, undermining feminism’s “women are equal or better”. You can be pretty much equal or catered to snowflakes in need of coddling, pick one.
This isn’t a sexist statement, since I’m a woman.
2. This will lead to employers continuing to bias toward hiring older women versus younger ones who may need maternity leave and now this type of leave. Obamacare already incentivized hiring someone old enough to rely on Medicare.
And these are called “periodic” vacations, I suppose?
My wife was always more reliable at calculating the checking account balance than I - except occasionally, which at a certain point I came to realize always correlated with the calendar . . .
The new Bruce Jenner holiday
Yeah sure, only one day now but where does it end?!
Pamprin?
Why would a company hire women when they get more work out of men?
That’s going to be the same whether this is implemented or not, so our wackadoodle government will continue to force companies to hire women, which hurts all of us.
I didn’t get this perk. I want reparations for all the years not being given this.
If you can’t do the job, you shouldn’t have the job.
I don’t know what to say about this... I can see it adding to the problems women face in being taken seriously. On the other hand, when I was young, I would not have turned this down because I had a tendency to vomit and then pass out on Day One.
Come on. Everybody knows men cant become women :)
