If we savaged Romney after the nomination while the election was on going we were helping Obama win. That is the whole point. Romney is an ass but I tried to spin his idiocy positively during the post primary election season because he was the only alternative to Obama.

No, he criticized Trump’s POLICY positions — his support for a big “infrastructure” package, his Ivanka-induced support for paid family leave, and other issues. That was the basis of his criticisms of Trump. And he also agreed with him on some things.
He has said he’s been pleasantly surprised so far. Trump, whom he viewed as a progressive (and therefore wouldn’t support for the same reasons he wouldn’t have supported Jeb) has been a better president than he expected.
And no, he did not threaten to stab Trump. Period. This is a falsehood spread byu the Trumpers. It’s untrue.

Since this story was first reported, it’s become clear that the “stabbing” remark was not directed at Donald Trump but at Beck’s in-studio colleague. It was a joke during the normal course of banter on the show.
(Since I know you won’t bother to go there and read it — it contradicts your narrative, after all.)

As the late Howard Phillips used to say, “Pragmatism doesn’t work.” He was talking about the kind of “pragmatism” that Republicans always sell, the kind that leads them to try to ram through a non-repeal of 0bamacare and tell us they’re standing up for us. The kind that says you have to support the Republican nominee no matter what, and any criticism means you’re working to elect the Democrats.
Which is just stupid.

There is a time & a place for everything and all situations have an applicable triage.
Attacking the single Republican left standing to run against Hillary is very very very low on effectiveness, and satisfies nothing but ones self importance.
In that situation a grownup keeps his mouth shut unless he has something that contributes to the effort to keep Hillary out of office.
The way to make your opinion count is to contribute time, money, assistance or run to further a candidate that espouses the views you support on your most important issues. In otherwords put on your big boy pants and stop sniping from the sidelines. When your candidate loses the primary you pick the primary winner that is the least objectionable and don’t pout and carry on to spoil that other candidates chances to defeat true evil ie Hillary. Try harder for your candidate the next time. It isn’t debating society. Elections have consequences.
