Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that "Television Trump" is very different from the real President Trump.
“As I see it, Television Trump is very different from the real person,” Putin said Saturday at a press conference. “He is absolutely concrete, absolutely adequately perceives the interlocutor, quite quickly analyzes, answers questions or draws from the discussions some new elements.
“As regards personal relations, I think they are established,” the Russian president stated.
The two world leaders met for the first time at the three day G-20 Summit in Hamburg, Germany. Their meeting spread to two and a half hours instead of the planned half hour.
Russia's meddling in the U.S. presidential election was not resolved in the meeting, but the presidents did agree upon a cease-fire in Syria.
Afterwards, the Russian foreign minister asserted that Trump had accepted Putin's denial of election interference, a claim the White House pushed back on.
“There is no basis to believe that Russia interfered in the electoral process of the United States,” Putin said....

Those of us here have mostly perceived all this since at least February and some from some time during the primaries. My “conversion” was in a flash during the primaries as I frowned when Trump made those “unfair” characterizations of and to Cruz and then watched Cruz get petulant and show that he was hurt. Cruz had been my guy up to that point and I had not been ready to accept Trump. What Cruz showed is that he would ultimately buckle to the pounding he would have, like Trump, gotten from the MSM and the Left in general and What Trump showed us is that he could fight instead of ceding ground through the felt necessity to be “civil” and polite. The left does the same thing to any candidate who does not wear the Demo label and is much more ferocious if the candidate is Conservative or Charismatic.
Yep ... Real President in charge. Even Putin knows
That is a very positive sign for both sides. I had a feeling these two alpha males would instinctively understand each other.
The Fake Media havent figured that out yet.
Putin very diplomatically avoided saying something like...
“I never thought America would elect someone I could take seriously.”
I don’t understand why these guys, the two most powerful men on Earth, can’t jawbone as long as they want.

My intuition tells me President Trump has made a plethora of business deals sitting across the table from many different types of personalities including megalomaniacs, which I believe Putin is. So he knows that you have to bring something to the table to make a win-win for both sides or the deal doesn’t happen. You can’t just go into a meeting with anybody and tell them what to do and they’re just gonna do it. Bammy never knew crap about it. All imo.

I was right there where you were in regards to Cruz. My last straw was when he and Rubio took Ben Shapiros advice to “machine gun” Trump at the next debate. Their smug handshake afterwards blew my top at I wrote off Ted for good.
He really took things far too personally and showed me he was not up for that job.
We here at FR have been longing for a fighter as long as I’ve been here. Trump more than filled those shoes

We are not used to being governed by competent people. This makes Trump difficult to understand for a large segment of our population. In time we will learn to accept and demand Trump’s level of extremely high competence in all of our leaders.
I was a Cruz supporter until Trump threw his hat in the ring. All along I was hoping that Trump was going to run, but wasn’t sure that he was going to commit.
I was so thankful when he did.
Was it more than helping to release the DNC/Podesta emails which have proven to be true?
Did they meddle more than soetoro/clinton did in the Russian, Israeli, Ukraine and Egyptian elections?
If the word 'fake' were as popular and in as widespread use in 2008 as it's today, the whole Obama candidacy could have been summed up in one word - fake. Barrack Hussain Obama - the fake candidate. Everything about him was fake.
Anyone who thinks Putin a fool is either one themselves, or dead.
I’ve had liberal friends ask “why do you cons suddenly love Russia so much?” Instead of getting pissed or taking the bait, it is a teachable moment. “Because Putin is doing what any leader should do- make their country great. And he kicked out the inept mafia backed bunch of jokers under Yeltsin, and I’m not too worried about someone who is a young, healthy 60 something with billions in the bank, real power, etc to start WW3- what’s the point when you have babes, planes, a big chunk of your people love and respect you? And he ‘gets’ that the existential enemy of both of our nations is Islam.
That doesn’t me we ‘love’ or even ‘like’ him, but he’s useful, we can work with him.
Maybe in the final analysis it mattered more that the communists were Russian than that the Russians were communist.
