Kids today are being taught America is evil, followed closely by whites. It is no coincidence that as we have adopted leftism, we are taught the country is more evil than ever before. Because the left are haters and destroyers there is no peace with them, or justice.

I notice you can’t dispute what I am saying.

“Adding millions and millions of people who a) don’t think the way we do and b) are not expected to learn our ways will destroy this nation. Or, haven’t you noticed? “

Well If I misunderstood then, my apologizes.

Right now, there is a festering subculture of people that claim to be on the right that decry that very notion and envision an America where all of that is scrapped for some bizarre desire to expel whole populations of actual American citizens because of their ethnic background, wholly separate from the subject of illegal immigration and unregulated immigration.

Sometimes the language gets a bit crossed between the two,, so it is hard to pick apart exactly what someone is saying.

Really? I haven't seen it. Certainly not on FR.

However, if the people of this country don't become an "unum" again it will not survive. Many are willing to try just about anything to make that happen. I'm not sure it's possible anymore. I have a feeling the states of the U.S. will become like the countries of EU - just members of a coalition that never agrees on anything unless power is used to coerce.

America is not a country anymore. It is just a place to live.

You are right, it has become just shared geography.

Unfortunately, another dead Canary in the coal mine is [Colonial Williamsburg. When I was growing up and later raising a family, Williamsburg was a “must visit” for children and visitors. Now, it is suffering financially (declining attendance) because most adults don’t know or don’t care about our rich heritage anymore. Very sad state of affairs.]

Remember visiting around the bicentennial. What an exciting time for a 14 year old kid. That and going to countless “military musters” in the area all the time and learning about the nation’s history.

Visiting Gettysburg and even the nation’s capitol.

I learned on my own because even then we were not being taught it in high school.

I feel sorry for the young of today not connecting with history.

We are not a nation.

We do not have a common culture, ethnic group, or religion.

We are at best, an empire.

If we were a nation.. well most of us on this board would not belong to the same one.

It is because that heritage isn’t theirs. When you are taught that the colonials were evil white men enslaving the world, you don’t want to be seen celebrating it.

A definition I learned years ago in political geography has always helped me: A Nation is a group of people having a shared language, culture, and origination story; a State is a political unit which has territory and sovereignty. Using this definition, the US - and a lot of other states - are not really nations but rather a collection of nations.

One half of this could try has the soul and the spiritual principal. The other half does not.

perfect response from another FReeper:

“When a significant percentage of the population do not view the spirit of the Declaration and the content of the Constitution with reverence, and don’t feel privileged to live in the United States of America, it becomes difficult to be united as a nation.”

“Of all cults, that of the ancestors is the most legitimate: our ancestors have made us what we are. A heroic past with great men and glory … is the social capital upon which the national idea rests. These are the essential conditions of being a people: having common glories in the past and a will to continue them in the present; having made great things together and wishing to make them again.”

Sheer pagan idolatry, though this is the very heart and soul of "palaeoconservatism." The implication is that each people creates its own "gxds" in its own image, and a singe Objective Universal G-d doesn't exist.

Ironically, Buchanan allegedly belongs to a "universal" religion. Also ironically, John Jay was fanatically opposed to that religion in America.

And no, I'm not attacking legitimate ethno-nationalism or endogamy. But I am attacking people who put ethnicity above G-d and who imply that He doesn't really exist.

Good morning.

“At the Democratic Convention in Charlotte to renominate Barack Obama, a motion to put “God” back into the platform was hooted and booed by half the assembly.”

To clarify, it was MOST of the assembly, and they did it three times.

The Lord forgave St. Peter, he might forgive them too (although, I’d make book 5-1 He doesn’t).

And don’t forget the Scots-Irish, without whom we would never have made it west of the Piedmont and might not have won our independence.
