LAKEWOOD — The arrest Monday of four couples, including four people who had earned millions of dollars, may just be the start as officials crack down on welfare fraud in this Ocean County community.
Rabbi Zalmen Sorotzkin, 39, of Congregation Lutzk, and his wife, Tzipporah, 35; and Mordechai Breskin, 37, and his wife, Jocheved, 35, were arrested on charges filed by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
The FBI, meanwhile, arrested Rachel Sorotzkin, 32, Mordechai Sorotzkin, 35, Yocheved Nussbaum, 40, and Shimon Nussbaum, 42, on federal charges of conspiring to steal federal funds....

What’s up blaming the jooos?
It’s a rapidly expanding ghetto slum inland a little ways from the Jersey shore. It has an exploding Hasidic population, exploding illegal alien population and long term ghetto population. It’s not a really city, it’s slum suburb on the outer fringes of the NYC metro area that has been overbuilt with apartments and filled with poor people on welfare. It’s basically like an American version of a favela, but not that violent.
Lakewood is now causing major problems for the state due to the extremely high use of government services by its residents and massive tax evasion. It’s becoming a fiscal black hole for the state, that’s why they are starting to crack down. This is also about high housing prices pushing poor people in the massive NYC metropolis to these “ghettos in the woods” on the edges of the region where property is less expensive. So a lot of the long term welfare families have been relocated from NYC proper to these kinds of places.
Hasidic Jews are well known to use their religion to receive welfare.
Sheesh! Money means that much to them that they have to defraud welfare to get more even though they’re already quite rich? How do people like this sleep at night?
Zalmen Sorotzkin (The Lutzker Rav) is the name of a famous rabbi from a previous generation. If this guy is related, he’s a couple generation removed. There are Lutsk chassidim, but if this guy is one of them his group isn’t very well known. Most of them are in Israel.
What they did was horrible, both in terms of the stealing itself AND the disgrace it put on the entire Orthodox community. I am ashamed of them.

If those that were charged were traditional Baptists or Catholics or Lutherans or Holy Rollers or Hindus, would you call them names based on their religion?Yes, Jews should obey the 10 Commandments. So should everyone else.
