Then why are they not being advanced?
I am in a “male-dominated” industry ... equities trading. I started as a clerk in the 70s and advanced to “Head Equities Trader” for the last 25 years. When I got in the business in the 70s there was a burst of “
“feminist” can-do and dozens of women entered the field here in LA. But a couple of years later they had all dropped out.
Now if I go to a Los Angles traders meeting, there are usually less than 5 women in attendance. Women have not gotten into all fields.
“Then why are they not being advanced?”
Ummm...
They are.
I work with a score of female engineers, on a daily basis.
American, Chinese and other Asian countries, as well.
The Mooch has not a clue.
... ha! You remember “Affirmative Action Bake Sales”?
Asians were the only ones who had to pay more money for a cookie than whites!!!
8o)
8:30 morning break is with the female Asian women and their home made dishes with vegetables, protein and rice.
Ugh. What a way to ruin a great show. I’m sure there were some conservatives there that just about puked.
Maybe they should hire Marissa Meyer from Yahoo to take over Tim Cook’s job?
Plus, all the required mansplaining would eat up a lot of time.
Michael Robinson is a woman?
Let the Wookie win!!
Just my two cents here.
I work for a school district and I sometimes observe tech classes. The percentage of males compared to females in those classes is overwhelming. On average in a class with 26 students maybe 10 are female. I was in gaming classes, where students create video games, recently where 2 to 3 out of 15 were female. One class had 1 female.
Im not sure what accounts for this but I would have to think most girls just are not interested in these classes. They have equal access and most basic computer classes have a lot of females. They just don’t move on to the next levels like the boys do. You can point out the advantages and what kind of high-paying jobs these skills can lead to and they must not care.
On the other hand, in the early childhood education courses, which is really nothing more than high school kids watching the children in the school-run preschool, the male/female ratio is the opposite. In a class of 25 students maybe 3 or 4 are male.
Michelle Obama can blather on and on about this, but really she’s clueless.
Her experience at “no show” jobs back in Illinois should be a big help.
Sharpton rolled into Silicon Valley years ago and started his shakedown routine - not enough African Americans employed in top positions.
Silicon Valley companies immediately.....yawned...because they are staffed by people from countries all over the world. People who sleep under their desks and work 20 hours a day to launch a startup or keep a business afloat. Silicon Valley went back to work without wasting time to talk to him....and Sharpton left town with empty pockets.
Sooooo...SOMEONE hasn’t done their homework, have they? SHe avoided trying the race card but I doubt they want to play cards at all.
So, Michelle, how big is the table?
Maybe Mike should try the transvestite/whatever angle, Might get some leverage there with all the gender confusion in San Fagsicko these days.
Thank you.
My reply to her question of “Are you ready to have women at the table?: would be, “Michele, only if you are serving”.
She's not only irrelevant; she's a liar! My youngest sister earned a BSEE and had a fruitful, prosperous career in the computer industry. There's room!
I suspect that tech companies have the pull to get top talent from anywhere in the world - including Africa. American blacks on average can’t compete with them.
