I just toss my pistol in with the laundry. The towels and other fabrics provide excellent scrubbing action. From there the dryer (it gets a bit noisy). I find keeping it loaded also helps clean the bullets.

Forgot to add - DO NOT try using the car wash to clean your pistol. When I came around to the entrance of the wash with Mr. Ruger hanging out the window they all freaked out. Some people are just scared of guns I guess.

I clicked off the video when the jackass started to make fun of spam. Spam was responsible for keeping second world war soldiers fed. It is a decent clean food that keeps well. Fools like this clown are the type that make fun of fruitcake also.

Depends if I’m gonna do a light or a deep clean.
For a light clean, I just run a bore snake thru the barrel, maybe a quick wipe down and call it good.
For a deep clean, I’ll disassemble it and clean thoroughly.
Who, or whatever, is on the receiving end of the pistol doesn’t care how clean it is, just that fact that it fired.

I have OLD style guns. For some reason they made them outta metal?

I have some purdy guns too. 3 handguns I have, have nickel finishes.

DONT....repeat DONT use Hoppes #9 or any other ammonia based cleaner on nickel. It will get into cracks you can’t see and deplate the nickel off of the copper under-plate.

I use Hoppes or other strong cleaner for most of my other guns.

Also.... be careful with 111 trichloroethane like gun scrubber around plastic parts. It can melt most plastics. (That’s for you glock guys )

Lots of my black powder shooting friends use something called ballistol. Supposed to be good for the bore and accuracy for you cap and ball folks. Supposed to make your BP guns shoot straighter too. I find it messy and tend to shoot smokeless or BP substitutes to avoid th mess, myself. But that’s just me.

Dropping it in the bowl and giving it a swirly isn’t sufficient?

Field strip, run some Hoppe through the barrel the drop the lower, slide and barrel into hot water and simple green.

Ultrasonic for 10 mins, airblow dry, lube reassemble.

Done.

I can do three side arms like this in an hour.

I’m at work right now, but think the settings are: High, Low, Tactical, and Kamikaze. The latter is for really deep cleaning, but the owner’s manual says it can only be used once.

“down,” “dirty” and “how to clean a pistol” should trigger any internet search engine for NSFW.

I enjoy both spam and fruitcake. Nothing wrong with either one.

I am a armorer for an agency that carries glocks. Gun scrubber has exactly zero effect on the plastic parts.

Ok. I’ve seen it melt grips on other guns. I have never fired a glock nor care to. That’s just me. ( I’ve handled a couple. )
My son has an LCP Ruger.380. Never tried it on that gun.

.
I have two Glock 26s.

No chemical seems to have any effect on any part of them.
