EXCLUSIVE – Congressional Expert: North Korea Prepping EMP Catastrophe Aimed At U.S. Homefront
Breitbart ^ | May 8, 2017 | Aaron Klein

Posted on 05/08/2017 6:47:38 AM PDT by RArtfulogerDodger

On April 30, South Korean officials told The Korea Times and YTN TV that North Korea’s test of a medium-range missile on April 29 was not a failure, as widely reported in the world press, because it was deliberately detonated at 72 kilometers altitude. 72 kilometers is the optimum burst height for a 10-Kt warhead making an EMP attack. …

According to South Korean officials, “It’s believed the explosion was a test to develop a nuclear weapon different from existing ones.” Japan’s Tetsuro Kosaka writes in Nikkei, “Pyongyang could be saying, ‘We could launch an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack if things get really ugly.'”

“The April 29 missile launch looks suspiciously like practice for an EMP attack,” Pry wrote. “The missile was fired on a lofted trajectory, to maximize, not range, but climbing to high-altitude as quickly as possible, where it was successfully fused and detonated — testing everything but an actual nuclear warhead.”

This weekend, an editorial published in the North Korean state-run media agency KNCA threatened the White House would be “reduced to ashes.”

The same news agency warned last week that “any military provocation against the DPRK will precisely mean a total war which will lead to the final doom of the US.” DPRK stands for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, or North Korea.

Like out of a scene from a Roadrunner and Coyote cartoon i believe their next missile is going to head straight back directly upon Kimmy.

EMP’s the most ‘bang for the buck’ and Kim’s a lowlife tyrant. Why would that choice be ‘nonsense’ for someone like him?

You think he’s not a monster? Too moral?

Gimme a break.

Fortunately for the US, the Norks don’t have a long-range ICBM. And may not have a reliable 10-kt warhead.

it still has to travel 5000 miles to get over Denver than detonate at 40 miles in altitude. Is NK going to assemble one at the Denver airport, then launch it? It failed, and the person writing this article is full of ......

You think he has a death wish? If he gets close to launching an EMP the Chicoms will rub him and his country out faster than I can type this.

Whether or not NK knows how to do it, their engineers are not morons. They know this would be an efficient attack, given their expected limits on accuracy and yield.

I suspect the effects of an EMP on our military would be relatively limited, while doing severe harm to areas with high concentrations of Obama/Hillary voters. Those of us in “Flyover country”? I would hope that most productive Americans have emergency supplies to deal with the days or weeks (months???) of disrupted transportation that would result.

I agree that EMP is not a threat and the Norks can only hit us if they put a device in a shipping container.

I’m not aware that EMP attacks are directional. The rocket in this case exploded at an altitude of approximately 44 miles which would seem to be capable of knocking out China and North Koreaas well as Japan, South Korea, etc. Now there is the chance that such a missile could be submarine launched off our west coast. That is if we would allow noisey, diesel subs close to our west coast. Just hitting Hawaii would bring a big response.

Over Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, or Beijing would do nicely if you were a bitter, fat, North Korean dictator.

I wouldn’t sell the NORKS short on this. They, along with Iran, have been talking EMP for years. As the article attests, NK does have satellites and that is all an EMP attack requires. If they were able to put a nuke or two in orbit, it could happen.

This would account for the little fat guy’s bluster about destroying the US. Government studies show that up to 90% of the American population would be dead within a year from starvation, lack of water, disease, roving opportunists etc......

There is a lot we don’t know about RE: the abilities of our military. I just hope we can drop those satellites before any attack on NK.

Could easily be launched from a medium sized ship.

And I think the EMP threat is a concern but has become doom porn.
