Former President Obama and his wife Michelle returned Wednesday to Chicago to unveil plans for the new Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park dedicated to the 44th President.
Barack and Michelle also announced that they will be donating $2 million to support efforts to create jobs in Chicago.
The recording studio will be a space “where I can invite Chance [the Rapper] or Bruce Springsteen, depending on your taste, to come here and talk about how you can record music that has social commentary and meaning”, Obama said.
The renderings depict three buildings – a forum, library, and museum – which will surround a plaza that will be located on the South Side of Chicago.
The project will take around four years to complete, Obama said, but educational programs will begin this year.
After Obama was re-elected in 2012, local organizers said they hoped Chicago and Hawaii could “share the wealth” of what they believed would one day become the most-visited presidential library facility in the country.

“This isn’t just about a building, this is about reaching out right now”, Obama said.
“Let’s face it, y’all wanna see Michelle’s dresses and some of the campaign posters and maybe there will be some artifacts from the White House and the presidency”.
Chicago has a lot to offer, Obama said, but most people outside the city only see headlines about the violence.
The Foundation, chaired by Obama buddy Marty Nesbitt, is overseeing the design, development and fundraising for the Obama Center and its related programming activities, potentially around the globe. The center will create an estimated 200 to 300 permanent jobs, HuffPost reported.
The center will be situated in Chicago’s historic Jackson Park, site of the 1892 Columbian Exposition originally designed by Frederick Olmsted, considered the father of American landscape architecture.
NY firm Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects led the design team, joined by local company Interactive Design Architects. Michelle Obama tweeted this morning that she and her husband will continue to fight for issues that concern them most, one of which is girls education. Multiple locations in three states – Illinois, New York and Hawaii – had initially pitched proposals. “I owe it all to this community”, he said.

If the songs recorded there have similar “social commentary” and “meaning” to those of the so-called artists they’ve invited to the White House in the past, we can look forward to a lot of lyrics referring to “b*tches” and “ho’s”.
Obama’s library will have a “smoking room” and a “rumpus room,” as well — corn oil and dropcloths to be provided for free.
There will be a bathhouse too.

Jackson Park is owned by the Chicago Park District which is owned by Chicago taxpayers.
How is Obama going to finance the acreage for his buildings...purchase, rental lease, his Clintonian Foundation, whatever?
I searched, but was not surprised that I found nothing, nada, on the finances connected with his grandiose memorial-to-himself project.
Maybe the city feels it will be a big tourist draw and will "donate" the acreage to him, but Jackson Park is bounded by Lake Michigan and the stupendously high-crime, gang-ridden, south-side Woodlawn area.
Let's face it, the location is a site where the Roach Motel slogan would apply to tourists on their way to the Obama "library" by foot or car, i.e., "You check in, but you may not check out".
You can be assured Obamboozle will scam the Park District commissioners big time!
