While not rare, the Baikal IZH 94 chambered in 12ga AND 7.62×39 is one very cool firearm.
This popular Russian survival rifle is sends some pretty sweet firepower downrange. One thing is for sure, the Russians had it right when they put together the Baikal IZH 94 survival rifle. It shoots two drastically different rounds and packs a pretty mean punch.
The firearm is capable of shooting a 12 gauge slug and a 7.62×39 round of rifle ammo. The gun itself is pretty sweet looking and boasts two triggers. One of the triggers is in charge of firing the slug while the other trigger fires the rifle ammo.

The “MP” model is chambered in .410 shot and .22LR. Nice varmint piece. Short money too.
Savage model 24 anyone?
It would have been even BETTER if the rifle had been chambered for the more potent 7.62 x 54 Russian, rather than the AK-47 round.
I’d prefer .308 to the AK/SKS round.

No it isn't, more's the pity. It has been replaced with Savage's over-priced piece of crap discussed in this YouTube vid.

I remember a Savage in 12/30-30 with nice walnut furniture. This looks comparable.
The Baikail 94 is much nicer than the Savage 24, and about the same price.
Having two triggers is a much better system than the clunky hammer mounted selector on the Savage 24.
The 94 also has a rail for scope mounting.
I have a couple in 12 gauge over 7X57 rimmed.
The rifle zero starts wandering after 3 rounds, but three rounds is usually enough when hunting big game.

This IZH 94 seems an interesting piece.
I used mine on a turkey hunt ended up head shooting the gobbler on the fly with the rifle barrel when I pulled the wrong trigger.
A bullet from a 7x57R does not lack killing power on a 27 pound turkey.
