Hiring people that have CCW permit is a smart move.

Isn’t this an interesting idea? I like it! Of course there would inevitably be a lawsuit and crazy activist judge who would declare any such thing unconstitutional, but there would be many benefits.

Beats the hell out of posting a “Gun Free Zone” sign.

The Taurus Judge is one hell of a handgun. .45 or .410 shotgun ammo.

There’s a gun shop in my town where the clerks opening wear pistols on their hips. Years ago the store was robbed during broad daylight by thugs who simply took a large amount of guns.

Won’t happen again.

They do this all the time and I am not sure why our side can't push back and ask the judges where in the constitution did they find it unconstitutional. If it's not explicitly defined, it's a states rights issue.

I can remember reading some years ago that in Detroit (I believe that was the locale) back a number of years earlier that grocery stores were affected by a rash of armed robberies, so the grocery store owners took it upon themselves to do handgun training and that this was given publicity. Apparently, the number of grocery store robberies plummeted for that good while afterwards.

Very interesting.

As a DoD contractor employee, I am required to obtain and maintain a minimum Secret clearance whether or not I am actually using it. It is a “condition of employment.” In 27 years, I have had very few jobs that required even occasional access to classified information.

Sounds like requiring CCW is roughly the equivalent. Cleaver way indeed to screen potential hires.

Certainly deals with the “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.” issue.

I’m not sure if I like the idea of requiring it, not everybody is cut out to handle a firearm.

This is brilliant.

A Taurus Judge?

One of my favorite guns, period, but you may open yourself up to all kinds of disability claims when employees start calling in with back issues!

The gun looks like a cartoon revolver. You can load .410 shells in it and fire it like a mini-shotgun. I’ve shredded some targets with it in the recent past, and it is surprisingly easy on the recoil. You think it would be murder on recoil but it is surprisingly mellow.

It’s heavy, which means ladies will have a tough time with it. I’d give employees a choice between three different guns myself.

For home defense, the Judge is probably the best in my opinion, just because you can load the shells in there.

Absolutely love that gun.

Everybody is cut out to handle a firearm, unless you have no arms at all.

It’s all a matter of training and practice, like driving.

All I can say is, states that allow reasonable CCW should have their school employees, mall employees, etc, do so. Then after a year or two maybe unreasonable states would see the difference in shooting incidents and we’d have a chance too.

I can see the left saying it is Racist, because everyone knows Blacks commit a disproportionate percentage of felonies.

What if an elementary school had a requirement that 25% of employees over 25 years of age had to carry? They could have a meeting, explain the needs, and ask for applications from the employees, and take the best of those who applied. Best = most suitable or experienced, and even locations of position (you’d want one in every hallway or building or corner of the school, etc.).

I personally wouldn’t require CCW for current employees if it hadn’t been a condition of employment at the time they were hired (though I would strongly encourage it), but as for new hires, those who don’t think they are capable of handling a firearm are free to work elsewhere.

Not an option where I work, unfortunately. All guns forbidden on the property except stored in your vehicle under specific conditions.

Permit holders are self selected to be one of the most law abiding, responsible groups in the nation.

If you're required to get the permit you aren't self selected.

Does the defense companies post a 30.06 and 30.07 type sign forbidding any kind of carry in the building?
