A starting quarterback in the NFL wins one game and loses 10 and he thinks he should be a starter. Heres a list of the top 15 paid backups in the NFL he would have to get by just to get a chance to compete with the starter and he is making more money than the teams can afford.
Matt Schaub (Oakland Raiders) - Salary: $6.75 million a year
Robert Griffin III (Washington Redskins) - Salary: $5.27 million a year
Matt Cassel (Minnesota Vikings) - Salary: $5.25 million a year
Matt Moore (Miami Dolphins) - Salary: $4 million a year
Chad Henne (Jacksonville Jaguars) - Salary: $4 million a year
Michael Vick (New York Jets) - Salary: $4 million a year
Matt Hasselbeck (Indianapolis Colts) - Salary: $3.62 million a year
Chase Daniel (Kansas City Chiefs) - Salary: $3.33 million a year
Jake Locker (Tennessee Titans) - Salary: $3.14 million a year
Blaine Gabbert (San Francisco 49ers) - Salary: $3 million a year
Christian Ponder (Minnesota Vikings) - Salary: $2.53 million a year
EJ Manuel (Buffalo Bills) - Salary: $2.22 million a year
Charlie Whitehurst (Tennessee Titans) - Salary: $2.12 million a year
Johnny Manziel (Cleveland Browns) - Salary: $2.06 million a year
Bruce Gradkowski (Pittsburgh Steelers) - Salary: $1.65 million a year
And his restructured $12 million for 2016 still makes him way to overpaid to get a call. And he isnt as good as many on the above list and not good enough to bring him on for the others at his price. Also, QB rating last year was 55.7% I can find a high school QB that can do that good.

Nick Foles should be on that list.
When the lib sports folks start talking like that, it’s code for “Over-rated, washed up, has been”.
If Kaepernick is so brilliant he shouldn’t have any problem find gainful employment.
This wasn’t a list of talent, just the highest top fifteen backups by salary according to the NFL in 2016 season. The intent was to display the salaries in the current positions, in place, for our buddy Colin to get by to get the starting spot he seems to think he is entitled by going over these guys and beating out the guy who is at the top.
I understand Foles is going back to Philly as a backup, but I didn’t use the figures for the 2017 season as many could not be found and the season won’t start until later this year. A lot of transactions could happen between now and then and who is drafted. So I worked with last year’s numbers. He apparently didn’t make enough to crack the top 15.
