It's now fine for airlines to drag off a passenger if it comes out later he has a record

No. It's not.

Apparently it's now fine for airlines to drag off a passenger if it comes out later he has a criminal record

Here’s a question: Did the media go digging up the guy’s criminal history on its own? Or did the airlines put some oppo researcher on the case and feed it to a friendly reporter? Because that would be one hell of a PR counteroffensive if it turned out the airline’s fingerprints were on it.

Better question: Does it matter? Is a corporation justified in treating a customer like inhuman garbage if it comes out after the fact that the customer had a history of being a bad, bad boy?

So, he has a 12 or so year old history. It was resolved. Are we supposed to get background checks disclosing our past sins before we get on an airplane? I can guarantee you the seats will be empty once we get the morality police involved.

My theory is that when the guy who did the dragging was suspended, the airport LEO’s did some computer diving on the victim.

The man is a drug pusher out of Kentucky - the one state that has the highest amount of opioid addiction in the country. Another immigrant winner! I'll bet some of the parents of the kids he pushed drugs on is cheering United, lol.

I heard it was a different doctor with a similar name.

I think all of that is irrelevant. He paid for a ticket. He didn’t create this problem. United did.

Perhaps they shouldn’t take people’s money until they are seated and off the ground. LOL

I think he should have been deported. Another immigrant from the third world with no deep commitment to the United States who abuses our laws, abuses our citizens and gets away with it. Under Mao or Ho Chi Mihn he would have been executed for his crimes.

Personally, I think United = Karma.

He wasn't pushing drugs to kids.

Don't be a liar.

Hell, I don’t mind if they beat him up because he’s a doctor.

How about them apples?

The passenger’s history was shamefully brought out. Not relevant. He is a 69 year old doctor and was knocked out, bloodied, and dragged unconscious from the plane. That is the issue at hand.

Interestingly, United’s CEO said today that this would NEVER NEVER happen again. Ever. That they made the error, not the customer, and he had every right to his seat. So, they understand that they have a big PR mess, and the dirt they dug up on him has only deepened their hole.

98 counts for peddling opioids and not one young person (by that I mean “kid”) was given a pill?

Look, I know we all have problems with the airlines but let’s not airbrush this guy into total victimhood.

the guy should have cooperated, its the rules. Its in the ticket, its the same for everybody. He clearly chose to make this drama turn out the way it did. He won his stupid prize.
