Just the other day an adult male (I’d rather not call him a ‘man’) went into a Muncie, Indiana Goodwill store and began preaching Islam. In the course of his sharing the glad tidings of the religion of peace, he snatched an elderly woman by her throat and began choking her while screeching, “Allahu Akbar!” The weirdo was identified as Khaliad Bilal. Sounds like a Hispanic or maybe Irish name, to me - though I want to avoid profiling. I can’t be certain, of course.
I mentioned the incident to my friends on Facebook. And one of my liberal acquaintances dismissed it as ‘fake news’. I challenged that. And she responded, “You can Google it for yourself! It’s not on CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, NPR, PBS - none of them!” I did, and she was right. It was a genuine piece of news that first appeared in a Muncie paper, ‘The Ball State Daily’, and then spread like a rash around the Internet on all sorts of grassroots publications. But the big six seemed to have missed it. So, to her and a growing number of Americans - it wasn’t real.

The Ball State Daily is a Campus Newspaper with small circulation. The main local paper ignored this actual story:
Muncie local Khaliad Bilal, 24, was arrested this weekend at the northside Goodwill on preliminary counts of strangulation, battery, battery on law enforcement, intimidation, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct. According to court documents, Bilal confronted an elderly store clerk at the Goodwill, threatened to kill the clerk, attempted to “convert her to Islam” and broke a police officer’s hand. A quick glance at what else the search brought up revealed mostly alt sites and unfamiliar ones.
Hope Trump puts this on his list, but if the guy is a citizen, probably not. I guess that list is mostly for criminal illegals from south of our border. And just because something gets published on one of the alt sites doesn't mean it isn't true but should be duerhwe checked out.
Often a local (well you tried to check against that, too) affiliate will have stories their parent companies won't touch so a good place to start. True. It. Really. Happened.
