Fox News pulls Napolitano after his Trump wiretap claims

Fox News has reportedly pulled Andrew Napolitano from the air indefinitely after he made claims that a British intelligence agency had wiretapped Trump Tower.

Napolitano, a Fox News analyst, is not scheduled to appear on the network in the near future, the Los Angeles Times reported, according to people familiar with the situation.

Last week, Napolitano made the claims about the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) spying on Trump at former President Barack Obama's behest.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer then quoted Napolitano's remarks while defending the president's claims earlier this month that the former president had wiretapped Trump Tower before the election. “Judge Andrew Napolitano made the following statement, quote, ‘Three intelligence sources have informed Fox News that President Obama went outside the chain of command,’” Spicer said during a daily press briefing last week.

"'He didn’t use the [National Security Agency], he didn’t use the CIA ... he used GCHQ.'”

GCHQ rejected Napolitano's claims that it helped surveil Trump for Obama in 2016.

“Recent allegations made by media commentator Judge Andrew Napolitano about GCHQ being asked to conduct ‘wire tapping’ against the then President Elect are nonsense,” said a spokesman for the agency, which rarely comments publicly on its operations.

The president last Friday praised Napolitano during a press conference as a "very talented legal mind."

"We said nothing," Trump said when asked about the former judge's claims. "I didn't make an opinion on it."

"All we did was quote a certain very talented legal mind who was the one responsible for saying that on television," Trump said.

"That was a statement made by a very talented lawyer on Fox [News]. And so you shouldn't be talking to me, you should be talking to Fox."

Fox News host Shepard Smith also denied Friday that his network has information validating Napolitano's remarks, saying the network knows of "no evidence of any kind that the now-President of the United States was surveilled at any time in any way."

Napolitano was one of the few interesting presenters at FOX.

I don’t think they yet realize what a loss he will be.

This is just to rich after all the fake speculation that Sheppard Smith has put out when he was supposedly reporting news.

Screw Fox. Obviously the Brits really did surveil Trump and pass the information over. Napolitano exposed it and they are pissed.
The 5 eyes program was supposed to be allies sharing signals intel during the cold war against an enemy, NOT a distributed domestic spying program.

We need a modern version of the Church Committee to gut the intel community and bring it to heel HARD. The fact is, they are operating in domestic politics.

Judge Napolitano just got punished for even talking about it.

Who in our government put pressure on Fox News to sideline Napolitano?

Has anybody at the New York Times been suspended over the their wiretapping headline?

I hope the judge is not fired over this.

“Who in our government put pressure on Fox News to sideline Napolitano?”

I’m guessing that the Brits put pressure on Rupert Murdoch.

Judge Napolitano was one of the FEW strong legal voices on FN. He best be back soon. Fox News is starting again to look like MSNBC each day.

You get flak over the target. Napolitano nailed it dead on about the Brits apparently.

If they Brits weren’t doing some kind of surveillance on President Trump, how did the Brit spy (Steele?) come up with all the commie BS he put in his report for the U.S. left wing “media”? I think FOX owes the judge and apology.

We have been drifting away from FOX NEWS, which I was at one time totally addicted to...no longer, thank goodness.

And have moved over to FOX BUSINESS NEWS. The Judge was often a guest on Lou Dobbs shows and Varney’s morning news shows..so we will miss him...

One reason we left FNC is because of the fruit cake Shep Smith...he actually made me ill...

So will give them a call tomorrow as I watch C-span and the Democrats trying to destroy the good SC Justice who will get approved even at all the hate the liberal dem’s throw...

DONE WITH FOX...

Didn’t Comey admit today that they started an investigation of Trump last July.

And admitting they have no evidence is finally admitting they’re not a news organization.

There has been no denial from 10 Downing street. All we have is a promise not to repeat the claim.

Napolitano seemed smart and to the point. I disagreed sometimes, but he was still smart and to the point.

But they keep Geraldo and Sheppie, and hire Marie Haft, who haven’t told a truth yet.

The Murdoch boys are trying to become the next MSNBC.

This seems to be a third rail topic, they smacked Spicer for saying it and now this. Of course Fox is owned by an Australian and they’re pretty tight with the Brits, so that may be a factor too.

It’s a sure bet they didn’t pull Judge Nap for no reason, and the story isn’t going away.

If they had surveillance why come up with a bunch of BS, instead of just telling the truth?
