Student union silence conservative students after criticizing University’s free speech intolerance

In an ironic turn of events, Lincoln University’s student council silenced a conservative society after it had released a list showing that the university is “very intolerant” on free speech.

Posting a recent survey by Spiked-online showed the results of UK Universities stances on free speech, and the survey showed that Lincoln University earns a “red,” which means “has banned and actively censored ideas on campus.”

According to The Telegraph, upon posting the survey, the Lincoln University student union suspended the conservative society’s social media accounts on the grounds that it brought the university into disrepute.

Of course, the fact that the student union did exactly what they were accused of was not lost on many social media users, including Lincoln MP Karl McCartney.

“This intolerant, illiberal and totalitarian response is akin to something out of the Soviet Union or North Korea rather than a place for learning and debate,” said McCartney.

The intolerance of the left never stops.

I remember an event I covered in the 1980s where melba Blandon, Information Minister for the Sandinista regime, was on the panel. She said, "They said were were suppressing freedom of the press. This was a lie and we could not let them publish it." Why does this remind me of that statement?

The purpose of inclusiveness is to use a capricious moral basis to EXCLUDE those deemed unnecessary.

So it is that American liberalism is closer to fascism than many dare admit.

Well free speech is not a right in the United Kingdom, so it does not surprise me that they left uses that to suppress anything it does not like, at any level.

So we have to suppress freedom in order to save it? Like destroying a village in order to save it?

Maybe we need an Iron Knee award for people like Melba Blandon. Of course they would never understand why they won the award.
