'Oh dear god no.'
Thats my reaction just knowing what's about to happen as I watch the video for the first time. The epitome of hold my beer as I hope Im not gonna watch someone die on a facebook video today.
Thankfully, my boss would never do that to me. I just watch someone realize how stupid they are in the span of a gunshot, and see them learn that bulletproof is not damage-proof.
"Oh my god, is the bullet in you?" They ask while sounding completely calm, and I can't help but wonder just how sober these guys arent (and if theyve done this before).
Pro tip: Test your bulletproof materials out on ham-hocks, not on meatheads.
Another pro tip: 'Bulletproof' isn't actually 'bulletproof', it's 'bullet-resistent' and you really don't want to decide how resistant it is while you're wearing it.
"The next, uh, footage will be the hospital."
You don't say?
Don't try this at home. See the footage here.
At the end, after taking the sharp end of a bullet, he’s still holding onto his cigarette. He may have asked someone to hold his beer, but he wouldn’t let go of his smoke.
His shooter friend was aiming for the heart.

Those aren’t rednecks. Rednecks are smarter than that.

Rednecks would have used a hunting rifle.
Getting hit with a bullet is like getting hit with a sledgehammer. You may live, but you still have bruised (or broken) ribs or sternum.
His “friend” then hits him in the chest. Looks like the pistol is a 9 MM/.40/.45 class.
A good discussion of body armor vs various calibers in this book:

Hard plates are the only way to go.
Should have gone for the head. Apparently, it’s more dense.
