A superb column. The Big Club and the Administrative State do the lawmaking. This ain’t republican government.

Your theory that a secret shadow government has been in charge since the 1800s is just not historical. You may as well claim the masons are in charge.

It was the Stone Cutters I saw it in a Simpsons episode. Since it was on TV it must be true! The only only thing better would be Internet.

And here once again we have an issue of definitions. "Shadow Government" is simply a short hand for "Crony Capitalists influence buyers of great wealth, and their bribed government fixers."

If you are a student of history, you will note the massive spike in corruption following the Civil War. The Grant Administration was considered one of the most corrupt in our History, (not Grant himself) and it was exactly the sort of influence peddling and quid pro quo governance of which we are now dealing.

I'm not saying some cult like cabal was having arcane rituals while they plotted to take over the world, i'm saying that good old fashioned greedy American businessmen learned that they could buy legislation and influence, and also at that time in history they finally had the money to do it!

Corruption amongst human beings is our natural state. It is not a sign of some globalist group rather an indicator of exactly how fallen man is

An ignorant welfare recipient like Obama neither understands basic economics, nor cares who pays for his bills. He's a parasite. He thinks like a parasite, not like a contributor.

.............

I don't doubt that at all. But there may be more to it as well. It's possible that the regimes entire goal was to Cloward Piven the economy and govt. budgets forcing a collapse. We were well on our way to it under the obama regime.

I'm not real big on a bunch of taxes. They have a way of multiplying and never being spent on what they were designed to be spent on.Take the fiasco in calif. with the floods and the money not spent on dams, dykes.

I just want to get the govt. out of the business of private healthcare. WTH it's not the purview of government to be in the healthcare business.

Historically, when govt. gets into any industry it does not belong in, take student loans for example, the price to the consumer skyrockets. Say from 10k per year for tution to five or six times that. The govt. backs the student loans so universities and colleges can charge whatever and still get paid when the kids default. Its stupid.

Same happens in health care.

Get the govt. out and let private enterprise handle the situation like they did historically and it's a whole new ball game.,p> Historically we bought our own healthcare.

If someone had a catastrophic health issue it was time to do a "local" "charitable" benefit for that person and the "local health providers" often helped out as well.

With everyone now entitled all that has been watered down. It worked for many years time to bring it back. Along with that we need border control to keep all the freebee wannabees out.Too many "something for nothing" people are sucking onto the welfare roles and its gotten way out of hand. It needs to end.

“charitable benefit”

Our health care sector is as big as the whole German economy.

It’s too big to run substantially on charity.

Charity might build a new hospital wing, but nurses are now unionized and expect to be well-paid.

I haven’t seen a nun in decades.

“I just want to get the govt. out of the business of private healthcare.”

The most common form of private health care is the prescribing of pills developed under federal government patent protection.

Those Article I Section 8 patents allow pills to be expensive.

Once expensive patented pills and potions are created under federal patent protection, you have poor people in need of those federally patented products.

Then the federal government through its “necessary and proper” power to support the continuation of Article I Section 8 patent system feels the “need” to swing into action to prevent insurers from dumping people that need $5,000/year+ pills and potions.

Of course the drug companies hide behind the excuse that it takes years to satisfy federal regulations.Supposedly trump is going to remove some of those regs lets hope so.
If we were allowed to buy the same drug anywhere in the world that would change things as well.
