The explosion was so powerful that it destroyed the entire four-story townhouse.

But I have to say, you’ve let us down in a big way. This health care system blows.

For the past few weeks I’ve been dealing with this 1095-A issue. You see, I never received it and as you know I need it to file my taxes. Being a law abiding citizen and all, I typically like to file my taxes on time.

I called Covered California in January and was assured I’d get it soon. But alas, it never arrived. So, I spent my entire afternoon (and part of yesterday afternoon), on hold with different folks at Kaiser and Covered California.

At first I wasn’t worried. I mean, a) I’m insured. b) I have several letters from Covered California congratulating me on being insured. c) I have emails from Kaiser and Covered California confirming payment for insurance. d) I have my credit card bill that also shows that I, in fact, paid for insurance. And e) I’m insured!!!

My second interaction with Covered California on this issue was both straightforward and unhelpful.

“If you didn’t receive a 1095-A you have to fill out a dispute form and FAX it to us.”

I respond, “Ok, but I’m not disputing anything. I’m asking for the form you’re supposed to have sent me.”

Alas, my logic seems illogical to the person on the helpline and she tells me that her hands are tied and that nothing can be done until I submit a dispute form.

After being on hold for 30 minutes I’m told, “We’ll let you know in 2 weeks if we received the fax. You’ll get a letter in the mail.”

I then ask what I think is a simple question. Shame on me. “Can you at least tell me if a 1095 was ever generated?”

“Ma’am, it doesn’t appear as though you’re in our system for having insurance in 2014. Are you sure you didn’t imagine signing up through our exchange?”

“I’m sorry ma’am but I think you’re mistaken. You signed up through Kaiser and Kaiser will send you the 1095.”

Getting through to Kaiser took a mere 48 minutes. But who’s counting? Once someone finally picks up I’m told, “Oh yes, I see right here, you were covered by us in 2014 through Covered California.”

And so, I call Covered California back. I’m thrilled to inform them that I didn’t imagine signing up through the exchange and that Kaiser can, without a doubt, confirm that I’m covered.

“Well, they’ll figure it out within 60 days. Don’t worry you’ll still get your taxes filed in time,” The women replies matter of fact-ly.

“60 days?,” I respond again, exasperated. “Actually, if you’re telling me I’ll receive my form in 60 days I will have missed the deadline.”

“Oh. Sorry about that. You’ll have to file for an extension then. Is there anything else I can help you with?”

The Washington Post Factchecker also turned a skeptical eye on Clinton’s comments, reporting that a review of more than 100 news stories from the time documented no security threats to the First Lady.

CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson, who covered Clinton on the Bosnia visit, wrote of her memories of the trip: “To be sure, it was not the ‘safest’ trip for a first lady to take: there were serious risks in traveling to Bosnia, even for the president’s wife under the vigilant protection of the U.S. military. It took some guts for her to go. But I don’t recall, and did not note, any close calls on this trip with sniper fire or any other dangers. “

Immediately after the speech that day, a reporter asked Clinton about remarks from others on the trip who suggested the trip was for photo opportunities rather than foreign policy and she stood by her account of sniper fire. “There was no greeting ceremony, and we basically were told to run to our cars. Now, that is what happened,” she said.

Mischief is defined as “treason against Allah,” and the very next verse — 5:33 — calls for guilty infidels to be beheaded. Obama glosses over all of this in his version.

Here’s the full text of the relevant verse (5:32), according to even the watered-down translation of the Quran approved and distributed by American Muslim groups, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

“(I)f anyone slew a person — unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land — it would be as if he slew the whole people. And if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them our Messengers with clear signs, yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land.”

The hammer comes down in the next verse, 5:33: “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: That is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the hereafter.”

It is the property of the state.” Chavez has seized many supermarkets from their owners, and under government ownership, the shelves in these supermarkets are often empty. Chavez’s mismanagement of the nationalized oil industry is so severe that the country has actually had to import gasoline, despite having some of the hugest oil reserves in the world. Chavez’s takeovers have also caused severe damage to the steel industry, the cement industry, the construction industry, the telephone industry, and the electric industry. He has also caused a brain drain, with many of the most intelligent and well educated people fleeing the country.

Journalists who cover the White House say Obama’s press aides have demanded — and received — changes in press-pool reports before the reports have been disseminated to other journalists. They say the White House has used its unusual role as the distributor of the reports as leverage to steer coverage in a more favorable direction.

The disputed episodes involve mostly trivial issues and minor matters of fact. But that the White House has become involved at all represents a troubling trend for journalists and has prompted their main representative, the White House Correspondents’ Association, to consider revising its approach to pool reporting.

This past week, one of his campaign websites posted an item entitled “Behind the curtain: A brief history of Romney’s donors.” In the post, the Obama campaign named and shamed eight private citizens who had donated to his opponent. Describing the givers as all having “less-than-reputable records,” the post went on to make the extraordinary accusations that “quite a few” have also been “on the wrong side of the law” and profiting at “the expense of so many Americans.”

These are wealthy individuals, to be sure, but private citizens nonetheless. Not one holds elected office. Not one is a criminal.

The real crime of the men, as the website tacitly acknowledges, is that they have given money to Mr. Romney.

First an Obama campaign website called out Romney donor Frank Vandersloot. Next the IRS moved to audit him—and so did the Labor Department.

Mr. VanderSloot has been targeted by the federal government. In a letter dated June 21, he was informed that his tax records had been “selected for examination” by the Internal Revenue Service.

Two weeks after receiving the IRS letter, Mr. VanderSloot received another—this one from the Department of Labor.

The ranch was fined $8,400, mainly for too many “flies” and for “grease build-up” on the stove. God forbid a cattle ranch home has flies.

As gossip websites buzzed about Gwyneth Paltrow and President Obama — her “you’re so handsome that I can’t speak properly” is already being mocked unmercifully — her Los Angeles neighbors lashed out Friday that the Paltrow-hosted presidential fund-raiser had come at their expense.

Traffic stood still, children were stranded at school, residents could not leave their own driveways. That’s not the way life is supposed to be lived in Mandeville Canyon.

In a post on the Nextdoor Mandeville Canyon website, a private social network for area residents, Bret Lewis said that the neighborhood did not need people like Ms. Paltrow “who pay no heed to the concerns of their neighbors.”

He went on to solicit support for having Ms. Paltrow kicked out of Mandeville Canyon. “She belongs in the movie theaters, and President Obama can entertain in the Staples Center,” he said.

The anger began building outside Ms. Paltrow’s home on Thursday even while Mr. Obama mingled inside during the two-and-a-half-hour event, where it cost a $1,000 donation to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee to listen to the president, and $15,000 to have dinner with him.

“I have a crying child on a soccer field!” one woman yelled as she passed by. (She was one of the few residents who were allowed to drive through.)

Mr. Lewis, in his post, said his family ended up in a restaurant “with a bunch of other displaced residents.”

“My 13-year-old daughter broke into tears, was unable to do her homework,” he said. “We finally got home at 9:00 and my daughter was up late studying, ultimately ill-prepared for her exams.”

Kim Peterson, in another post, said residents were misled about the extent of the presidential security and the impact it would have on traffic. “The biggest problem yesterday is we did not know the Canyon would be totally closed down,” she said. Otherwise, she said, “we could have all planned accordingly.”

But in Mr. Lewis’s opinion, it was “more than poor planning, it’s an abuse of power and, most importantly, unneighborly.”

Obama’s different standards for Muslims and Christians is deplorable. Whatever position the Obama administration takes for workers who refuse to do their jobs, it should have the same standards for Muslims and Christians.

In 2010 in Forest Hills, New York, a 12 year old girl named Alexa Gonzalez was arrested for writing “I love my friends Abby and Faith. Lex was here 2/1/10 ” on a classroom desk. In 2010 in Sanford, North Carolina, a 17 year old girl named Ashley Smithwick was charged with a misdemeanor for having a small paring knife in her lunchbox. In 2013 in Holmes County, Mississippi, a five year old boy was taken home from school in a police car for violating the school’s dress code. In 2011 in Fort Myers, Florida, police were summoned to an elementary school after a girl kissed a boy. But Obama never defended any of those students, or invited them to the White House.

And those are just the ones where the police got involved. In cases where the police did not get involved, there have been dozens of reported incidents where students who were not named Mohamed got in trouble at school for things as ridiculous as pointing their finger like a gun, biting their pastry into the shape of a gun, threatening to shoot someone with a pink plastic toy gun that shoots bubbles, and dozens of other similar examples. But Obama never defended any of those students, or invited them to the White House.

The faces of intelligence agents were covered, but the boys — some as young as 10 — were rarely concealed, according to the children. Several of them were killed. One tried to hang himself while in custody.

The Somali agency’s widespread use of child informants, which has not been previously documented, appears to be a flagrant violation of international law. It raises difficult questions for the U.S. government, which for years has provided substantial funding and training to the Somali agency through the CIA, according to current and former U.S. officials.

The child informants were used to collect intelligence or identify suspects in some of the world’s most dangerous neighborhoods, according to their accounts.

“They took me sometimes in a car and sometimes on foot and said, ‘Tell us who is al-Shabab,’ ” recalled one 15-year-old who said he was held by the intelligence agency. “It’s scary because you know everyone can see you working with them.”

The teenager was one of eight boys interviewed by The Washington Post who described being forced to work as informants after leaving al-Shabab. Hillary Clinton’s State Department and the Clinton family foundations is closer and more complex than even Donald Trump has claimed so far.

While it is widely known that some companies and foreign governments gave money to the foundations, perhaps in an effort to gain favor, one of the key parts of the puzzle hasn’t been reported: At least a dozen of those same companies lobbied the State Department, using lobbyists who doubled as major Clinton campaign fundraisers.

Those companies gave as much as $16 million to the Clinton charities. At least four of the lobbyists they hired are “Hillblazers,” the Clinton campaign’s name for supporters who have raised $100,000 or more for her current White House race. Band also influenced State in other ways. He procured jobs at the prestigious agency. When he said one person was “important to take care of,” Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin responded, “(State Department) personnel is sending him options.”

He got Dow executives invited to State functions with Secretary Clinton in Japan. And Abedin consulted him to ensure people requesting a meeting on a foreign trip were “legit cgi people.”

This is serious. Federal regulations bar government employees from using “public office for . . . private gain . . . or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity, including nonprofit organizations . . .” Bribery laws are also potentially relevant.
