Let's play hardball to get the wall financed

Sooooo, food for thought. Higher estimates of the wall are 38 billion. Current US foreign aid is about 37 million annually. Mexico has about 500 million in US foreign aid out of that 37 million.

How about we take all of north and south america's US foreign aid and apply it to the wall budget. We can tell all of those countries: "Hey dudes, sorry, but Mexico ruined the Foreign Aid gravy train for you. If you can convince Mexico to pay for the wall, we can turn the free money back on."

Maybe even include countries that Mexico trades with too overseas. Basically make Mexico look like the kid who ruined the trip to disneyland for the class. When your friends instantly turn and hate you, you tend to sing a different tune. Just food for thought.

Simple way to start the payment process is to tack a 25% surcharge on all wire transfers to Mexico and Central America. In the past, Western Union transfers was the largest source of dollars for Mexico, even more than oil.

Liberals enjoy making conservatives pay for abortions and the rest of their BS; as such, I enjoy the idea of making them pay for our wall more than the idea of making Mexico pay for it. I think we should definitely tax all those remittances but I think liberal tax dollars need to be used to build the wall. more to the point, it’s all just a big distraction. Secure the ****ing border and quit wasting our time with this pointless nonsense. SECURE THE ****ING BORDER!

Trump, in his first week in office, should have his folks have the IRS initiate an IMMEDIATE hold on all tax refunds (particularly those based largely on the Earned Income Tax Credit & the Child Tax Credit) to illegal aliens (those without an SSN). There’s a huge amount of fraud in these payments.

$23 billion was sent to Mexico last year by Mexicans working in the United States, by legitimate means such as wire transfer. Tacking a moderate surcharge onto that, large enough to cover the wall, eventually, but small enough that there is no point in using less reliable means of sending money, would get the wall paid for in 10-20 years, less if the prices for the wall are overstated.

You do that, and you will see banks in the UK, Spain, Canada, etc, offer services to receive money transfers from the US and send them to Mexico for a 5% fee.

I’m thinking the money saved from excluding illegals and other non-citizens from the various federal welfare programs should be enough to cover the costs within Trump’s first term.

No, I don’t have actual numbers. Just making a presumption that might be wrong.

I know you mean well, but come on, this is not a well thought out post. Basically, Trump is going to tax remittances sent back by illegal immigrants. Currently, estimates are $50-$100B per year being sent back. You make up a big chunk of the wall in Year 1, with an added benefit of these people beginning to self deport in out years. Next step is to seize the drug money which is $8-$10 billion per year. Anything else, Trump squeezes Mexico for. We hold all the cards. Their entire economy is dependent on us so they will fold.

Mexico makes much of what goes in US motor vehicles.

Mexico could easily shut down most of what is left of the US auto industry simply by barring the export of a few things.

That needs to be amended out of the Constitution.

Birthright citizenship may have been appropriate 150 years ago, but it creates millions of problems in the 21st Century - US children with illegal foreign parents.

What I suggest is:

The first sentence of Amendment XIV is hereby repealed.

Every child born in the USA after April 30, 2017 shall be born with the citizenship of their mother.

No foreigner may be granted US citizenship unless the foreigner is over age 22 and has paid United States federal income tax in excess of the value of one ounce of gold on personal US earnings in each of the prior four years.

[That’s to make it impractical/impossible for Democrats to give a scofflaw mom or her newborn US citizenship.]

A wall isn’t going to work - there are bulldozers and ladders in Mexico.

We need to do a deal with the Democratic devils: Their supporters can stay (except if very undesirable) once the Amendment change is ratified.

Until ratification, deportations will continue - Obama got rid of 2.7 million black job stealers.

I don’t think a 25% tax on all international transactions is a solution.

That would push us all to Bitcoin.

That won’t happen.

If anything, single service money exchanges will open in these countries. The companies would have no business interests in the US.

If there is a way to legally avoid taxes, people will use that option.
