LG & Samsung Set to Announce Future Plants in the U.S. Due to Trump's 'Made in America' Pledge
Patently Apple ^ | January 9, 2017

Posted on 01/10/2017 10:44:06 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

In November Patently Apple posted a report titled "The Chinese Seem Eager to Open Plants in the US instead of Whining like some in Silicon Valley," followed by a report in December titled "Softbank to Invest $50 Billion in the U.S. to create 50,000 new Tech Jobs and Somehow Foxconn is Included in the Deal." Today we're learning that South Korea's two largest electronics companies are considering building factories in the U.S. for the production of home appliances in view of incoming President Donald Trump's "Made in America" pledge.

Several reports out of Asia today note that LG Electronics is set to announce its plan to invest in the U.S. to construct production lines for washers and refrigerators while Samsung Electronics is mulling a similar plan ahead of the real estate billionaire's inauguration on Jan. 20.

President-elect Trump promised to bring manufacturing back to America and after his election, offered companies tax breaks to shift production away from cheaper locations to the U.S.

"We are likely to wrap up our discussions on the matter by the end of the first half of this year," said LG Vice Chairman and CEO Jo Seong-jin at a press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Jan. 6. "We are checking ways of productions in the plants, including whether it is okay to assemble parts there. We will be able to conclude the plan within the first half of this year. We have completed about 80 percent of the preparation."

LG's announcement comes days after Trump's renewed attack on foreign companies with production lines in Mexico that benefit from cheap labor and free trade. Last week, the president-elect on Twitter slammed Toyota Motor for building a new plant in Mexico, threatening to impose a "big border tax" on the Japanese automaker.

Previously, he said he would levy a 35% tax on products from Mexico. As Trump pressures foreign companies to invest in the U.S., Samsung Electronics is also discussing ways to establish new plants in the country. The company declined to comment on its plans. Samsung also produces home appliances for the U.S. market in Mexico."

President Trump indeed has waved his magic wand, the one that Obama said Trump didn’t have:

How are people supposed to honor Former Supreme Dear Leader B. Hussein Obama and the Democratic Party using food stamps and other handouts with jobs headed our way?

How do the Democrats plan on keeping people mired in poverty so that their party stays alive?

How will Democrats explain that Obama’s “New Normal” was a ruse?

How will we save the planet after all of the carbon emissions from liberals lighting themselves on fire once they realize that their entire socio-economic ideology was nothing but a scam and that national socialism is a complete failure?

Will someone please think of the Democrats? :-P

/sarcasm off

A 3.8 million square mile wet blanket is being lifted from America.

Anyone wonder why that is?

I believe this is one of the primary reasons the Left is going apoplectic in their anti-Trump melt downs. Further, I also think this is one of the primary reasons for the Farewell Obama orgy speeches and celebrations.

Trump is providing a very stark and startling contrast to Obama. Obama’s economy was moribund for 8 years and the Left doctored all the economic stats, yet everybody knew the failure of the Obama economy — and much of the failure for active design, think “green energy, cash for clunkers, trillions for non-existent shovel-ready jobs (where DID all that money go?) and so forth.

Now along comes Trump and the guy hasn’t even assumed office yet and he is absolutely decimating Obama. Trump has done more since being elected than Obama has in 8 long years!

So everybody in the country - nay, the world - can see what an abject failure Obama has been so they are beside themselves with this contrast and are both going on a jihad against Trump and his supporters and an orgy of self congratulations to try and cover what everyone, including Stevie Wonder, can plainly see.

In this context, the Left and the Hollywood self-important types reveal their petulant foolishness.

I wish President Trump would hold off on all this winning. The democrats are going to claim credit for all the wins between the grim tyrant’s loss and the real President’s inauguration. There have been far more wins in these two months than in the eight terrible years before the election.

It’s amazing. Congress had better follow through on President Trumps agenda or the backlash against those who vote against it will be stunning

Proving once again that Trump is right. America holds all the cards in trade negotiations. Without access to the American market, these companies are dead.

where DID all that money go?

You don't think that BO ran a billion dollar campaign in 2012, with HRC doing the same in 2016, based on $50 donations from the rank-and-file, do you?
