Republicans are on track to fake-repeal Obamacare

Unless something changes, Republican leaders have no intention of repealing Obamacare

If Republicans in the brand new 115th Congress want to enrage supporters and destroy whatever grassroots goodwill remains they are off to an excellent start.

Daniel Horowitz has the gory details at Conservative Review:

I’ve never trusted this Republican congress. Different session, same traitorous song-and-dance.

How to own the downside without fixing anything.

Republicans have never been anything but traitorous whores.

Every stinkin’ one of them.

Anyone who believes otherwise is a fool. Everything the Democrats say about them is true, as is the opposite...everything Republicans say about Democrats is true.

Burn it to the ground.

If they don’t repeal it, it will crash and burn on its own anyhow.

Problem is that by then the GOP will be branded as the party that sat by for four years and let it happen.

The Dems will then be able to ride to the rescue with a “fix” (i.e. single payer).

This is exactly why I have been suggesting President Trump force their hand in a manner that will be FUN!!!

I want President Trump to VETO it!!, then repeal ALL Waivers issued by the Executive Branch, then Issue an Executive order mandating ALL FEDERAL EMPLOYEES except Military Personnel to enroll in and Purchase their own private and Family health Insurance plan from the Affordable Care Act Exchange in the State they legally reside.

Then issue another one Removing ALL Federal Funding from ANY State that does not have 100% of their employees enrolled in the Affordable Care ACt

And VETO EVERY ATTEMPT TO REPEAL UNTIL BOTH HOUSES ARE UNANIMOUS.

Crazy?? maybe, but I see this as the ONLY WAY OUT

The PEACE Order
The “Public Employee Affordable Care Enrollment” Order

Of course they do not - it was their votes that passed Obamacare.

Unless something changes...

Like every one of the executive orders exempting certain groups or mitigating draconian penalties getting revoked?

Who writes this dreck?

the problem is... what do you do with those who currently have insurance that had preexisting conditions that the insurance companies were REQUIRED to cover?

If you simply repeal Obamacare... insurance companies will simply drop those people even if they are willing and able to pay.

Once insurance premiums rose in employer sponsored health plans to the point the employee cost sharing portion exceeded the federal withholding taxes in a paycheck ot was just a matter of time.

As a history major I am something of a stickler for historical accuracy.

Not a single Republican voted to pass Obamacare.

That is not a valid excuse. What have they been doing the past seven years? The Democrats put up a 20,000+ page bill over night. They had clearly been waiting for the opportunity to drop that bomb, and now we are expected to wait while Republicans use repeal as a get-out-the-vote tactic. Sure, they could say their repeal needs some fine tuning, but to tell us they don’t have anything ready to go is simply nonsense.

The GOPe is just worthless. This BS ACA repeal is just going to leave us with something worse. Even the “Cadillac Plan Tax” stays. The only hope I have to really cripple Obamacare is for Trump to strangle it with EOs. Add to that, more and more I am convinced we can assume nothing until after Jan 20. There is too much contradiction. At times Trump seems like everything we hoped and at times it seems like it was all just to get elected. We just won’t know until he’s in for awhile. I am not knocking Trump but there is no denying the uncertainty.

“At times Trump seems like everything we hoped and at times it seems like it was all just to get elected.”

Mind listing some events/facts/statements that clue you in that it was all just to get elected?

Obamacare could have been tied up in the Senate committee, but Olympia Snowe's vote allowed the legislation to move forward. So yes, the GOP did play a small part in Obamacare's implementation.

Perhaps I misunderstand you, but obamacare passed without one Republican vote, thereby the whole “shoved it down our throats” meme.

“At times like it was all just to get elected.”
Perhaps a bit of an overstatement but he has brought in some GOPe people that give me pause including a very close friend of Bohner’s and he equivocates some here and there. But l recognize he has to tred very carefully until Jan 20. My point is we are aren’t going to know for sure what we have until he’s been there for a bit.

Although I think that we are going to be very impressed with Trump’s proven business leadership skills, patriots need to start planning for major swamp-cleaning job with Congress in 2018 mid-term elections imo.

Patriots should also consider that the states can amend the Constitution to give themselves the power to recall bad-apple lawmakers and fire these swamp critters before 2018. (They said that Trump was not electable either.)

Also bear in mind that the reason that DC continues to be such a headache is because of the stolen state powers, and associated stolen state revenues, that corrupt lawmakers continue to use to oppress the states and their citizens.

Patriots need to support Trump in peacefully “forcing” the corrupt feds to surrender state powers that they have stolen from the states back to the states.
