A 37-year-old Washington man is accusing his local Spokane Starbucks of ageism after they reportedly banned him for hitting on a 16-year-old barista.
According to KREM, Lucas Werner was banned from Starbucks after he gave an underage barista a note asking her out for dinner. In a Facebook post on one of Werner’s two accounts on Dec. 20, Werner claims he left a note reading, “Blonde with the red lipstick who thinks I’m funny, Are you hitting on me? I can only presume.”
After leaving the note, Werner said he then went to the library to “work” (which he placed in quotation marks).
On Dec. 22, Werner posted that when he returned to Starbucks, “a Spokane Police Officer said the note was creepy, which it wasn't, and asked me to not return because I was being banned. We already know this is because the barista was young and legal aged and I'm 37.”
“I did not ask her to have sex with me. I asked if she would like to have dinner sometime. Perfectly normal adult behavior. I figure, if she was 16 and flirtatious it would still be legal to ask her to dinner,” Werner continued, before instructing people to complain to Starbucks on his behalf.
KREM reports Werner also referenced his website dedicated to “age gap love” when defending himself.
Werner does, in fact, have an entire website dedicated to why men should date young women (specifically those born in the 1990s).
Werner, who calls himself a “scientist without a degree in science,” defends his preference for younger women by saying having children with men over 35 will give the children “stronger DNA.”
Throughout his Facebook pages, Werner accuses people who don't accept his “age gap love” theory of being “hateful” and “ageist and against truth like Republicans.”
He has said he wants to date young women because they’re “very liberal and intelligent” and “not racist, sexist, homophobic or xenophobic.”
A Starbucks spokesperson defended the Spokane location’s decision to ban Werner, stating, “We have no tolerance for any such inappropriate behavior or harassment, and we will continue to support our store partners and local authorities investigating the situation.”
Spokane police defended the decision to ban Werner, claiming businesses have a right to refuse service for any reason.

So one minute he’s saying he wasn’t persuing coitus, and the next minute he’s talking about strong DNA in babies the combination could make.
I don’t have a problem with an age gap (I have a sizeable one with my wife myself, but only times for both of us). This fellow is making “thing” out of it, and that IS creepy. Starbucks is free to tell this bloke to get his coffee elsewhere.
Just keep digging that hole deeper, Werner.

He wants to date young women because they tend to be naïve and gullible and many are easy to get into bed because of that generation’s pervasive hook-up culture. And if they have firmer curves because gravity hasn’t worked on them as long, he’s not going to complain.
Typical creeper perv, and then he has the nerve to try to play it off like he’s innocent.
Normally, I’d say git a rope, but in light of the last 8 years, SWIRL THE DAMN LATTE AND GIVE HIM YOUR NUMBER.
A 40 some year old guy asked my 23 year old daughter out the other day.
She looked right at him and said “no”
To his credit, he said ok and walked away.
And besides, doesn’t your DNA start to decay as you get older? Cancer, mutations, shorter telomeres, etc.
That’s how it’s supposed to happen.
I see an advantage to dating younger women, as they’re less likely to be cynical or jaded or bitter or hateful. However, I would respect them in the morning, but I’m not so sure I would respect myself in the morning.
Just give it time.
Those that now bend their knees to the destructionist left for fear of being called racist or “literally hitler” will soon enough bend knees and submit to the pedos for fear of being called ‘ageist’.
The only thing I want from a 16 year-old is to get off my lawn.
Good thing Starbucks doesn't sell wedding cakes, I guess.

I’m tried of the small talk many businesses now engage in with customers. I go to the bank to get an accurate transaction done, not to be asked about my plans for my weekend or such while they screw up my transaction, then say “Oh, my bad”.
Same goes for grocery check out and places like it where we get stuck in l one while cashier finishes gabbing with current customer.
There are times for business and times for chatting or flirting.
I was glad to hear all “Merry Christmas” every place I went this year and only one Happy holidays. I guess since Trump won they all want to stay in his good graces :)

If it were Seattle he would have just identified as “16” then it would have been no problem.
