The scientific community remained silent for too long, accepting populism into the strict environment of cold blooded facts. The old have betrayed the young, teaching them that facts should not always come first.

On the contrary, facts are the only relevant aspect in science.

Heck, they talk about how rapid the end of the last ice age was and how amazingly fast the glacial melt was without batting an eye.
They deny in the same breath the medieval warm period as well when tropical diatoms flourished around Iceland.

“...how rapid the end of the last ice age was...”

There is some evidence to suggest that they come about pretty quickly too, and if it is cyclical (I believe that it is), our current warm period is longer than most (all?).

Good article except for not attacking the lamely derived 97% statistic, which is totally bogus Social Scientist based. Much like there is no Science of the Climate, There is no Science in Socialism. Social Sience indeed!

Always good to have new FReepers, especially when they know how to lay low until they’ve established themselves.

I don’t really think you needed to excerpt what you were saying, since in was your own material.

It’s all about money.

Hussein Obama has become a fanatic supporter of Global Warming and his attacks on anything coal. Hussein's EPA has shut down more US electric plants than an army of Muslim terrorists flown into the US could do.

In Hussein's case, it's all about terrorism. Hussein Obama, America's FIRST Muslim President, is in office to hurt the US in every way he can. Global warming is just one of the many attacks on the US supported by Hussein.

It’s all about money.

BINGO! In any GOVERNMENT FUNDED study on anything, the results must always show why the next round of the "study" requires more GOVERNMENT FUNDING.

It's ALWAYS about the money.

This needs to be posted in over half the FR threads. ... and the threads on yahoo and other big audiences.

Nice work.

I have one question about terminology. Is the correct word for a human-caused/influenced phenomenon ‘anthropocentric’or ‘anthropogenic’?

Thanks.

Yes it is.

In Eisenhower’s farewell address, the one in which he famously warned of the military-industrial complex, he also much less famously warned about Big Science. We are seeing with Warmist Alarmism over Climate Change what Eisenhower foresaw in 1961.

“Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been overshadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.

The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present
and is gravely to be regarded. Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientifictechnological elite.”

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?
