Christmas is a WONDERFUL time of year and Hannukah falls perfectly in the season....HAVE a BLESSED Holiday!!
We use either a white sheet or a festive tablecloth bunched around the bottom.

Doesn’t need to be a custom made skirt - some pieces of felt or other material will do fine - we even used to get some of the fake snow material with gold trim 0 not sure what they sell these days as we’re down to small artificial these days with no kids/grand kids around.
I was at Michael’s yesterday and yes.. they have red felt. From my experience, some of the tree “skirts” are small. I use a larger one that I found at Home Goods. It isn’t a typical “tree skirt” but a pretty small blanket (mine looks like velvet but I have seen others in cream/ivory/green/red etc and some of the fabrics looks like satin. I guess with decorating you have to think “out of the box” (it is what every designer tv show does!). To be honest, once a tree is decorated... few people even glance at the bottom of the tree. One more suggestion, Yaelle. My friend uses a “snow” blanket. She found it at Michaels as well. It looks like soft cotton and is usually sold in a large bag (some even has a bit of glitter to look like ice). It is somewhat fluffy and can be pushed/pulled to fit. She got the idea from her Aunt who uses the stuff to make a “Christmas Village (the little houses/trees/etc). She uses it as the snow base for the houses.
We use a sage colored flat sheet. It’s not as expensive as a regular tree skirt and is easily washed for the following year.
We have a plastic plant watering can with a very long skinny spout. Works great for adding water in tight places without making a mess.
A pine tree adds a wonderful aroma to the house, unlike any other. Might want to take a small pan of water, add some cinnamon sticks and cloves and let simmer on the back burner of the stove or in the microwave. Smells like you have been baking all day! The wonderful aromas of Christmas.
Well, I’m not a Jew, but I’m a big fan of Purim.
And we just use an old sheet. It’s inevitably gonna get tree sap on it, so don’t use anything fancy.
A couple of cheap white blankets wrapped around the base will look somewhat like snow. They are also useful after Christmas to keep warm.
Every Jewish person I know celebrates Christmas. Must be a mountain thing.

I want to give you all a huge thanks for all these suggestions!! I love the cotton snow idea (only snow we will ever see here) but today I am going to put a white sheet around for the surprise because we have one.

I didn't used to know ( I do now ) WHY flat gingerale calms a queasy stomach, why tea and dry toast helps that too , why chicken soup is good for a cold, that "beef tea" ( beef broth ) is good for sick people, and a whole horde of other of fashioned remedy for things and people. I just know that ALL of that stuff WORKS!

Ok, why does flat ginger ale calm a queasy stomach??? Seems to me that while you're waiting for your ginger ale to go flat, your queasy stomach would have already errupted...
I can explain that ( and it doesn't take all THAT long for gingerale to go flat ), but shan't. Go do your own scut work.

I used a red felt tree skirt one year. When I watered the tree, some of the felt got wet. I didn't notice until we took the tree down.....my carpet had a big pink spot on it!
Last time I used red! LOL (Luckily, the carpet was very light and I could carefull bleach the spot. Over time, the sun bleached out the remaining stain)
We just wrap a white sheet around the tree (snow). Place an animated village/park/skating rink/ballroom/merry go round, and then encircle the entire area with an oval train track.
