I Was 100 Percent Wrong About Donald Trump
Canada Free Press ^ | 11/14/16 | Michael Shannon

And speaking of refugees, what about the more–conservative–than–thou #NeverTrump crowd?

It’s been a decade or more since I’ve enjoyed watching election returns on TV. Republicans are always being told not to give up hope; the campaign is gaining momentum in the last week. I remember four years ago there were reports from the Romney campaign that prospects for victory were looking up.

Instead of three little old ladies waiting in line for Mitt outside a Florida Golden Corral, there were now four.

“Conservative” is not a defining characteristic of the #NeverTrumpers; the opposite ideology, rather. Just check the record. And they never claimed to be conservative either, at least the majority of them.

What happens to the NeverTrumpers?

It’s hysterical to watch the saboteurs try to slide back in - praising Trump but not apologizing for being so dead wrong. As if it never happened.

Confession is good. Deleting all his online accounts and STFU for the next 4 years would be even better.

from the article: "...but how much credence could one give to Trump’s reports of eminent victory?"

Why can't these pundits, who communicate for a living, learn to use their own language properly? It should "imminent victory."

I know it's a minor point, but sloppy language is a pet peeve of mine.

I did not vote for Trump because I am a conservative who votes for the most conservative candidate in the race. I didn’t vote for Romney either. In fact, Trump’s actions, the actions of his supports and this very board convinced me that conservatives are not welcome in the GOP and as such, I changed parties to the American Constitution party.

It is because I am tired of voting for liberals in conservative clothing. Trump was a life long liberal before he ran as a Republican. I pray he will govern as a conservative. I have even seen the foundations be prepared by Trump’s staff selections. However, I still fear that he will return to his liberal past and stand guard to call it out if it happens.

Regardless, I can still do the civil thing and congratulate him on a win.

At this point, it’s all a question of who is not blindly in denial of the situation. AFAIK, all you can really do about the downfall is slow it down. Who can actually get elected and push? I wish you well on protesting and demanding that the immigration controls happen, or that the spending gets done. But if any of what Trump says will happen, will happen, it is too little, too late.

Correct, after one election and before the next, all that can be done is to educate the voters and petition the elected to stick to their rhetoric.

Like you said - by then, it is too little and too late, but it is all that we have till the next election.

If he does he won't be around for a second term.

Dana Perino, we had to hold our noses for 7 years (the first year was good) of your candidate, George W Bush. Quasi compassionate conservative that he was.

God, Fox News needs a purge.

Whole article makes no sense. No intro, no conclusion, hardly a middle, no thesis. Reads like blogpimp clickbait.

politics is all about the band aids... it would be nice to get someone who believes everything that I personally believe but that’s not gone happen for me or for you. the best that you can do is try and work to get the one closest to your belief system. when you choose and support a candidate all you are doing is putting a band-aid on the problems of political rule and the self inflicted damage to society caused by politicians like Obama and Hillary.
