Watergate was a shabby little takedown in which a very intelligent but morally weak man sold his birthright as President of the United States for a paltry $100,000 bribe from Howard Hughes. Nixon was indeed a cheap crook. He could have been great; he was entrusted with greatness by the American people, but he just wasn't up to that trust.
But now it's just too much to have to hear Carl Bernstein keeping on with his own personal hagiography -- Trump Win is Tragic & Dangerous - Trump Wins If Drudge Alternate Universe is Right. ("Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?")

In case anyone missed it, Woodward & Bernstein were all too willing participants in Assistant FBI Director Mark Felt's deep throat petty revenge for being passed over as Director of the FBI. The Geo. Washington & Abe Lincoln of the fifth estate had to have known they were being used. Along the way, the professional class responsible for accurately reporting facts got diverted off into this dark honeypot sideline of regime change.
Now, which is it, are they kingmakers, or reporters? Somehow, the two don't mix.
So, now, this is all in the same ballpark as Hillary bagman Sidney Blumenthal whining 'It was the result of a cabal of right-wing agents of the FBI in the New York office attached to Rudy Giuliani, who was a member of Trump's campaign …I think it's not unfair to call it a coup.'
Now, which particular shade of black is that peculiar pot calling the kettle?
As super-cops, FBI head cheeses have the unenviable task of trying to keep clean while mixing with underworld characters who crawl out of the sewers to afflict ordinary, sometimes decent people's lives.
Those same, real people can see through these hacks like they're a flock of used car salesmen.
Everybody gets blamed except her Hellness.

Blumenthal makes me think of Al Capone’s henchman who got his just desserts near the end of the 1987 movie “The Untouchables”.
It's disturbing than neither hillary nor her team are looking inward and figuring out what THEY did to cost votes.
Let me count the all the faults of Hillary Clinton that resulted in her losing:
1. Enough political baggage to fill a C-5M Galaxy military freighter.
2. Made way too few appearances in public during the campaign.
3. Spoke at every public appearance in an style that turned off listeners.
4. Appears to suffer signs of serious medical issues.
5. Bought into the MSM cheerleading but forgot to address faults #1 to #4.
Blumenthal was ambidextrous---chronically emailing Hillary Libya foreign policy messages w/ one hand....his other hand firmly in the State Dept cookie jar.
In one confidential e-mail to Clinton, Blumenthal was clearly colluding w/ onetime Amb Joe Wilson (Valerie Plame's hubby) to help himself to the tax dollars in the State Dept cookie jar.
BACKSTORY Secy Hillary's aide at the State Dept, Cheryl Mills, a govt employee, found time to run a side business.....the "BlackIvy Group," a consulting firm and property developer in Sub-Saharan Africa. Cheryl is (cough) "developing" a privately-financed dry port that will be located 56 km outside of the Port of Dar es Salaam, and will use shuttle trains to take transit and upcountry cargo to and from the Port,” BlackIvy spokeswoman Erin Pelton confirmed to Breitbart News.
“BlackIvy is focused on in-land logistics, not operating seaports,” Pelton added, denying that BlackIvy is running into opposition from the Tanzania Ports Authority.
So how did the US-based "BlackIvy," a brand new firm with no discernible track record of building ports, manage to become an overnight player in the East African energy market?
It turns out Secy Clinton's cronies had help from a company called Symbion Power, which was created to profit off rebuilding efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan after the U.S. invasions. Symbion Power happens to be a very good friend of Hillary Clinton’s.
GAME ON Amb Wilson teamed up w/ Blumenthal, pumping himself up as a 'director' of Symbion Power---an outfit seeking millions of dollars in contracts from an obscure State Dept government agency chaired by Hillary....the Millennium Challenge Corp. (MCC)
In September 2010, Hillary's MCC awarded Symbion $47 million tax dollars for (cough) 'power projects in Tanzania.'
EVER WONDER how much of the $47 million tax dollars got to Tanzania....after the players divvied it up among Blumenthal, Wilson, the Clintons, Obama?

You know, I wonder if I should take back my earlier post. I wonder if ones like Blumenthal should be forced to work in a substance abuse recovery/detox centre where they have to help clean up the messes the patients make, having to help deal with newly received patients under the influence, etc.
