Hofstra University has posted a “trigger warning” sign to warn students about the potentially disturbing content that may be discussed during Monday night’s presidential debate.
According to CBS New York reporter Tony Aiello, a sign inside of the student center at Hofstra reads, “Trigger warning: The event conducted just beyond this sign may contain triggering and/or sensitive material. Sexual violence, sexual assault, and abuse are some topics mentioned within this event. If you feel triggered, please know there are resources to help you.”

Yeah, the comments on that article are very interesting, with almost every comment critical of the “Student Counseling Services”, who placed the sign and seem to have a staffed table nearby.
Apparently, people are spending $40,000/year to send their snowflakes to Hofstra. Geez.
“If you feel triggered, GET A LIFE AND GROW UP!”
Maybe there will be a tape delay and a moderator behind the curtain who’ll blank out the video/audio so those snowflakes won’t melt. But then of course that moderation will have to be high on something.
Watching Fox on Sunday I found the students at Hofstra to be both self centered and annoying.
These “trigger” warnings is end-stage PC run amok. It could be taken as parody, but these leftists are convinced and are true believers.
These people hate free speech because they don’t have any rational argument to make.

My mind is boggled. What is a trigger warning and why would one need one in this day and age? Only Amish students in Hofstra U? Is Bill planning to do something?
This was once a great school. I have had friends who were graduates and knew the head of the English department - a true New Yorker who loved Fitzgerald, O’Hara and Hemingway. We fought because I loved Thomas Wolfe as well.

According to the other thread, the “trigger warning” sign is for another event on campus. Not sure.
Thank God my son went into the Marines instead of wasting his life and money on college in this country.
My husband and I were students at Hofstra in the 60’s. You would have been laughed off campus for this crap. Boy, it’s a whole new world and certainly not for the better.
