Controlling Coyote population on your Land - Sky way
Am Shooting Journal ^ | 9/20/2016 | J Hines

With coyote populations rapidly increasing, coyote hunters are taking to the skies to get the job done in less than 30 minutes. When packs of coyotes infiltrate your area and present a clear threat to livestock and local wildlife, it's time to get serious about thinning them out quickly. Watch as this coyote hunter takes to the skies to do some population control from a chopper.

Whether you're taking out coyotes from a chopper or shooting them in a hay field, having the right weapon will help make all the difference. If you're hunting coyotes in close proximity, using a semi-automatic shotgun will be your best bet. See the video here.

Had a pair of coyotes and a momma and cub bobcat in my backyard this morning.

They were napping/resting. Then they casually wandered off, the coyotes first.

Seems kind of resource intensive for just controlling coyotes.

Reminds me of a feral hog fixed position camera operated gun setup, quad mounted 12ga semi autos.

I wish they could use this on some of the ferals in Southeast Dallas around Fair Park. Oh, and on the stray dogs, too.

“Had a pair of coyotes and a momma and cub bobcat in my backyard this morning.”

I sure hope you have an “indoor” cat.

If he can shoot that many dogs in a half hour, he needs to throw some resources at it. Got way too many.

We’re not doing too bad here. When we kill one we go hang it on the fence line and that seems to do a good job of warning the rest of them to stay away.

We are lousy with coyotes in the Atlanta burbs. There are are no stray cats anymore. We carry a gun walking the dog.

They are around up here. They are very fast, smart, and alert animals.

I hear a lot of them about 1/4 mile behind the house best I can figure. Chased one down the fence with the UTV about half mile from the house. Fast, smart and alert characterizes them as well as opportunistic.

I don’t care for them. Time for night vision if I get that ambitious.
