Would, “We win; they lose” count as a plan? Isn’t that what Reagan said?

That's an End State, not a plan.

I was an Operations Officer.

I planned a few.

You are another one who believes that generals are gods.

They aren’t.

We pay them a lot of hard-earned tax dollars to win.

I don’t really care if Obama makes it hard for them.

They still need to figure out how to win in spite of Obama.

If they can’t do that, then they need to get out of the way and let some new ideas have a chance.

Those generals all scream about subordinates making excuses and then they sit there making excuses.

“Mr. President, can you please enter the Nuclear code?”

Sorry, but IMO that's a very bad idea. You won't defeat ISIS with nukes, but you will have unbelievable collateral damage.

Here’s the plan, as simple as it may seem. Ally with Putin and Assad, coordinate the destruction of every ISIS strong hold, no one in no one out. Apply the British approach, like Air Marshal Harris did when bombing Germany. Collateral damage? Hell, Dresden received 100% collateral damage, everyone there was the target, including the refugees fleeing west, even our own captured service men in prison camps. The ISIS vermin brought it upon themselves with their savage behavior. They deserve the most powerful swift sword to put an end to them.

Our generals will immediately submit a plan to depose Assad.

“Isis is already defeated. The challenge for the generals will be to come up with a plan to get rid of Assad, along with the Russian and Iranians Obama invited to invade Syria, that doesn’t involve getting the entire world blown up in the process.”

That’s exactly what thy will say. And they will push their agenda that does everything except get rid of ISIS. Which is not defeated. They hold their capitol, and there have not been mass war crime arrests. As far as the Russians, they have done 10 times what our generals have.

You summed up the problem with our crappy generals and leaders. They are fascinated with pushing a foreign policy that has us arrange the governments of foreign nations like Syria.
Removing Assad is a Saudi and neocon goal. There would be no ISIS or sunni rebels had we not started the war. Their Russian allies would not be there had Assad not been hard pressed by our sunni jihadi rebel army. there would not be this flood of ‘refugees’ had we not started this. The answer is to cut off all the rebels from a thin dime. Utterly destroy ISIS. Apologize to Assad and leave Syria.

I know, but it was a fun idea while it lasted. Anyone anywhere with suspected ISIS ties is to be taken into immediate custody and fairly interrogated. If the ties are found to be accurate, a military tribunal will be convened immediately in a neutral non-US location (Guantanamo?) Punishment if found guilty will be swift and sure.

AANY retaliation will be dealt with quickly and with finality.

ISIS members will be given ONE chance to surrender. They will be taken into custody and will be placed in internment camps. A steady diet of good food, fun music, education and some good old fashioned American values will be given them for at least a solid year. They will then be re-evaluated and at that point, their internment will continue or if they have become non-radicalized, they will be released.

ISIS members known to have engaged in terrorist activity will be executed.

Those who are hiding or aiding ISIS members will be shown no quarter.

Governments who are known to assist ISIS will live under constant threat of attack.

Our intelligence networks will be rebuilt quickly using all possible means, human, satellite, cyber, etc.

Soldiers will be given wide latitude rules of engagement. See a man with a gun. Kill him, don’t wait to be fired on.

See an arab man abusing a child, kill him.

Put out a worldwide bounty on ISIS members.

That’s a fanciful telling of the story. The Russians are the only ones attacking them. We are having “war theater”. We bitch about the Russians when they bomb Syrian rebel jihadis and ISIS (same thing).
We just let an ISIS column roll away in broad daylight in a massive convoy of trucks with all their weapons.

You say they are falling back to their last stand. Its more like to the next defensive position. And how many war criminals were in that convoy and laughed as they escaped with our promise they wouldn’t be attacked?
That was the most cowardly thing ive seen our generals do in a long time. That convoy should have been blasted to oblivion. But that week we were threatening the Russians for bombing “our” jihadis.

Take your propaganda elsewhere.

The generals are restricted, so I think of them as gods? Does that even make sense? You live in a fantasy land.

There are operations officers, and then there are planners. You are most definitely an operations officer. No combatant command has been given the order or authority to defeat ISIS. That is a fact. Absent orders, they plan and they support what they have been given authority to do.

It has nothing to do with their paycheck. The generals are under civilian control. I am sorry your government class failed to point that out.

Good Day, sir.

Keep making excuses for them and they will continue to mark time.

You may not have noticed, but our generals claim they have been given orders to defeat ISIS and they claim they are doing so. A pin prick here...a pinprick there.
What our generals want is Assad and they don’t really care about ISIS. Also our generals are little politicians. They LOVE their friendships with the Saudis, Turks, and Gulf states.

Our general corps is a big part of the problem. You blame Obama, yet the generals enthusiastically support him and his goals. Their only complaint is that they want to attack Assad instead of ISIS. Mention ISIS, and they answer about transitioning Assad out. Nearly every general needs to go. They are all a bunch of pussies that are more like MBAs or State Dept types. They have nearly no martial skill that I can see.

It’s amazing. You don’t get to be that high without being 100% military. Once they get there they become like RINOS. Stinglaub shot off his mouth under Carter but he ALREADY had 30 years-no threat to his retirement. Clinton and Obama efferctively shut them up by not letting them quit honorably. Have any come forward telling all of us that as a condition of promotion they had to be willing to fire on Americans? Maybe it didn’t happen. Any the passed that conceivable test should be fired immediately. Where does Petraeus fit in here?

What Trump needs to do is find a new Chief of each branch of service and Joint Chief.......”Clean house” quickly. I was in the Military for 38 years and every general I every met only wanted be a higher grade general. Have you ever heard of a General Grade Officer who said “I will resign before I will do this or that”??? All only say such as that after they are retired.....’CLEAN HOUSE”

“Things have really changed on the battlefield lately,”

You must be watching too many daily briefings...nothing but propaganda. Obama has to show progress before November for Hillary. He has neutered our ranks of military leaders; there is nothing left but political hacks with bars on their chests.

Obama has lied to the American public about ISIS before...the MacDill braintrust did the dirty work for him. What makes you think he won’t do it again.

You are living in a fantasy world. So you really believe the MSM? You believe his press conference? let's say for the sake of argument (and you are not), that the president says he gave authority to the GCC. Unless a general is given the resources and parameters to defeat an enemy, a press conference means little. Ask your Congresscritter why we don't have a U.S. Marine Brigade planted in Al Anbar province. Ask him why Raqqa isn't in U.S. control? There is no authority.

So if Dickhead Obama says he is told generals to destroy ISIS, but has not made any provision, WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU?

And why are you introducing information that has no relevance?

You have a feckless President and a feckless Congress. Brought to you by the American electorate.

Too much TV is ruining you. At some point in time, you have to test your assumptions if they are true. If they are not true, then you must modify or abandon them once confronted with new, truthful information.
