Let's see what happens when you punch a bear trap
Cal Sportsman ^ | 7/15/2016 | E Nestor

This radio personality gets more than he bargained for when he decided to punch a set bear trap.

We don’t really know who pitched this idea, but these radio personalities at Rover’s Morning Glory in Cleveland decide that Dieter should put his arm in a bear trap.

Bear traps are mostly in disuse now, and the bear trap itself was made as a huge hulking trap to hold a half-ton-bear or more.

A 200-pound man is definitely no match against the raw power of the double long springs that power this beast of a bear trap from the past. See the video here. Oh by the way, don't try this at home.

More fun times from the quasi-mental illness that is Cal Sportsman.

Oh wait: they did not shoot the guy 20 times and then dance around his body, so never mind.

I didn't look like it snapped really fast and was too easy to open up. I'm betting it had a very light spring in it.

No way was that a real bear trap. Those spikes would have gone through his arm and there’d be blood everywhere. Not to mention his wrist would have been broken.

That toy is more like a wolf or coyote trap - A Newhouse #6 for grizzlies is 44-49 inches wide and weighs nearly 50 pounds. Try that one, Dieter.

When radio DJs think something is a bad idea, it's gone to a whole new level of stupid. That one DJ was begging him to not go through with it.

I'm shocked it didn't entirely fracture his arm.

To bad he didn’t put his testicles in it and then he could have been an honorary Darwin award winner.

Looks too small to be a bear trap. I think I have one of those for coyotes.

You wouldn’t do it on the original New house bear trap I have unless you wanted lose your arm.

A 200lb man can stand on one of the springs and not move it downwards.

My dad use them to trap bears back in the 40’s and 50s powerful traps for sure.

Yeah, even Johnny Knoxville isn’t THAT stupid...

(That trap was not a full strength spring...It would’ve broken his arm easily)

The classics are still the best. One of the few good things about getting old is that most of the kids have never heard these jokes.

You’re right.

And so many words and phrases are seldom heard anymore.

For instance, when we were kids and our Dad wanted the truth about something, he’d say “I want you to tell me the straight dope”.
