My dog Fredd was mauled by 6 hog hunting dogs earlier today. The mobile vet was only a hour away and took him right away. 8 stiches. 7 wounds.
I was bitten too. I am fine. He is resting now on his bed. The dogs were not supposed to be out of the pens. I will post more info later. I thank goodness people were around when it happened....Pulled the dogs off of him. would have killed him if no one else around.

If I may offer some advice, I always carry my pepper spray when I’m out with Isis.
I don’t know if it would be enough for what happened here, Florida only allows us a 2.5 oz can, but I don’t leave without it.
I also usually carry my knife, even though a knife is not a good choice of weapons versus an attacking dog.

Poor thing, hope you both recover quickly. Have you talked to the owner of the dogs that were out?
Prayers for Fredd. I carry pepper gel. Not sure that would have helped but Amazon does carry it.

Catahoulas or hog or bear hunting dogs like southern type Scott Bulldogs ?

We used to cull runaway dogs at deer camp....I didn’t have heart for it but some guys liked it.....used pistols mostly

An attack by a dog pack is a serious thing!
A few years ago I was set upon by a small pack of dogs led by a Pitt Bull.....ouch!
That was the day I discovered that man’s best friend is a Colt 1911.
