Campus Cannibalism: Hillary Supporters Bullied… by Bernie Supporters?

You hear a lot about leftist bullying toward Donald Trump supporters on college campuses (see #TheChalkening: Michigan Students Call for Arrests Over ‘Offensive’ Chalk Signs… and Bill Maher to Liberal, Emory Students: ‘I Want to Dropkick These Kids’…). Because, tolerance and what have you. But the bullying of Hillary Clinton supporters?

If the ‘bullies’ in question are Bernie supporters, then yes! According to the latest story from The Guardian, it’s become an on-campus epidemic… and it is delightful.

Walk around any college campus and Bernie Sanders’ popularity is immediately apparent. Depending on the climate, you’re likely to see Bernie T-shirts or Bernie sweaters or Bernie hats or Bernie scarves. You’re less likely to encounter Hillary Clinton memorabilia. In a setting where students are meant to be rebelling against the status quo, to be wearing berets and hanging Che Guevara posters on their walls, supporting Clinton just isn’t cool.

“If you’re engaged in activism and you’re a part of the campus left, and then you choose to support Clinton’s campaign … that’s almost a traitorous act,”

“Do I feel more challenged by Bernie supporters? Yeah. Do I feel more challenged in general? Yes, I do,” she said. Ho said she felt she had to “justify” her backing for Clinton to Sanders fans. They see the Hillary supporter as someone who doesn’t really want as much equality as they do. Like: ‘What do you mean why don’t you want free tuition for everyone? It’s not fair. Why don’t you want equal pay for everyone? Why don’t you want to tax the rich? What’s wrong with you?’ Like: you’re evil.”

Yes you’ve read correctly. Hillary Clinton supporters need to create “safe spaces” on campus… from the Bernie supporters. War is hell.

The irony in that this is the exact same kind of attack used by Hillary supporters against Conservatives is not lost on me. It is however, most definitely lost on Hillary supporters.

This is yet another example of just how far leftist intolerance has gone on college campuses. Its no longer enough to be merely intolerant of conservative opinions, they’re now compelled to be intolerant of leftist opinions that aren’t far left enough.

Now, my initial reaction is to just LOL at leftists eating themselves. Their cannibalism is inevitable, and a joy to watch. But then it hits me in the gut… these kids are going to entering the workforce soon. They’ll be running our companies, voting for our governments and even building our planes. These same kids who require “safe spaces” and “trigger warnings” and demand that the First Amendment be all but ignored… will soon become the biggest voting block in America. Think about that for a second.

Believe me, I think about that a lot more than just for one second. It scares the hell out of me, as it should everyone else. Look, I get it, for me, a Gen-Xer, there will be no retirement, no Social Security, or what have you. I am fully resigned to the fact that I will work until the day I cross the great divide, and I can live with that. It's always been that way, until recent times. C'est la vie. What worries me is will I even get that opportunity if these knuckleheads implement their social justice paradise. See Venezuela, Brazil, Zimbabwe, et al. Brave new world, indeed.

I don’t think thuggery in politics should be encouraged or excused, even if it’s against the typically detestable Clinton crime-family supporting dupes. Sanders is even more pathetic if he doesn’t speak out against it to his supporters. There were reports of BO supporters doing similar things to her supporters in the 2008 primary, but I don’t think much was done about it as it was contra-narrative to the commissars. And they were quieted with the administration position hushpuppy.
