Well, Cruz may not be the nominee. but hose tool is he supposed to be? Kasich is more obviously a spoiler. If hue were not in the race, Cruz would have more visible support.
People are now mindlessly talking about the establishment. My bet is that a large portion of the delegates are tea partypeople who thought they could gain control of the party by coming in at the grassroots. The grass roots of a party are those people who really work at politics. NOT the guys who get all worked over during election campaigns and then goes back to football obsessions.
Well, I’m sure the Ted and his supporters are convinced that his ground game is very clever and follows the rules. It also proves unequivocally what Trump has been saying about the corruption of the nominating process. One couldn’t find a better example of what makes people hate politicians than Cruz’s ground game, no matter that it “follows the rules”. So the GOPe can follow the will of the people or “follow the rules” into oblivion.
I’m sure that the GOPe thinks that people would get over the GOPe pushing out the clear leader for a party hack. That is what’s pretty much happened all along. This time though I think that they are being to clever for themselves.
I know, it’s actually very sad that we wind up at odds with these people.
Trump is a demagogue. Now, I say that with the caution that so was Shakespeares Mark Anthony, and maybe the real man. The greater Orator Demosthenes was one, and maybe Patrick Henry. Except Trump is something of a paradox: the plutocrat as rabble-rouser. He has a great ear for the average guy. the guy who really lacks the capacity to argue. The client of the lawyer rather than the lawyer. Trump makes him feel on the same level., Cruzs weakness is that he cant do that.
I forgot Aaron Burr and (his bastard son?) Martin Van Buren.
I understand what you're saying but Cruz is still working to elect Hillary. He needs to get out of the way.
I think he's tone deaf Ted more than he's a liar.
Cruz has been one of the best things Trump has going. Without Cruz, it would have been one-on-one Trump v. Kasich at the end, and that would help the establishment. Also, without Cruz, it would have been the establishment picking the delegates instead of Cruz. Trump won't pay attention to that aspect of the campaign, but having delegates who oppose Amnesty matters even if Trump thinks he has enough delegates.
Cruz's attacks on Trump will be analyzed by Hillary and the best of them will be used in the general election. Now that there is no way for Cruz to win he should stop attacking Trump, drop out and endorse Trump. Or at least shut up.
I haven't seen anything in the Cruz attacks on Trump that looked effective. Those "attacks" have been weak and almost irrelevant. If copying Cruz is the best Hillary and her minions can do, Trump will be in good shape. I agree though that Trump and Cruz, and their supporters, should stop attacking each other.
