The facts are clear: There is no longer any rationale for a Cruz candidacy
The Coach's Team ^ | 3/29/16 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

After the disgraceful conduct of the Republican establishment over the past few weeks, it is clear that Ted Cruz has become a pawn in their scheme to hold on to power.

The feckless manner in which Willard Romney first endorsed Marco Rubio, then John Kasich and finally Ted Cruz shows that he and his co-conspirators have no core principles except gaining and holding onto power. The “little people” believe this bunch of quislings actually care about winning elections, when in fact they don’t. After all, they have already said they would vote for Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump.

The endorsement of Cruz by Lindsey Graham who openly detests him and has stated preservation of their Republican Party is the most important goal in this election – apparently even at the expense of our country--is as cynical as it gets. It makes it abundantly clear that Cruz is either a rube or a willing participant but either way he is not showing himself to be a “principled conservative.”

Having Jeb Bush call Cruz a “principled conservative” is a blatantly patronizing example of what these hypocrites really think about the Senator from Texas. They will say anything to get Cruz to be their errand boy and hang on long enough to give them a “plausible reason” to step in and “save the Republican Party” from George Will’s vulgar and unwashed mob candidate.

As things stand today, when Cruz loses another 173 delegates he will join the noxious liar John Kasich as merely a spoiler doing the bidding of those who have no intention of...

The race is such a lopsided win for Trump that it’s ludicrous to suggest otherwise.

In Texas, Cruz won only 44% of his home state/s vote.....not even enough to get all the delegates. Trump got a chunk of Texas delegates. Cruz ferreted out victories in a few caucus states known for iffy vote counting methods, places not designed to kickstart a losing campaign.

Now the desperate Cruz camp wants us to believe (via this agit-prop): “In 22 states, more than 60 percent of Republican voters have rejected the Donald...”

Notice how the anti-vote is never applied to him or to the other candidates.....b/c it blows the argument to smithereens.

=====================================

REALITY CHECK: even though Trump won in Louisiana, Cruz weaseled 10 delegates more. Cruz is all in with the GOPeers. Cruz is doing to Trump what Hillary Democrats are doing to Bernie Sanders ......when he wins he gets screwed and Hillary gets more delegates. Cruz is NOT an outsider by any means and he is being outed in more ways than one.

Coach is still an idiot. He would love to see Ted hand the nominee to Trump? Hell no. Make Trump work for those 1237 delegates.

Which he won’t get.

We need to beat Hillary in November. At this point, Cruz is quite far behind Trump and is extremely unlikely to clinch 1237. The only thing he can do at this point is stop Trump from reaching 1237, which seems to be his game, and it seems personal. And this wives/affairs thing is making them both look really, really bad and is damaging our side.

Cruz really should just drop out, if he gives a damn about this country.

Cruz is being used by the GOPe. Once he keeps Trump from the nomination they will turn on him and put someone else in, maybe even Paul Ryan.

That, and the fact that he was born in Canada. Hillary will take him apart over that.

If Cruz really believed his stick, he would drop out and support Trump.

And when Trump doesn't get 1237 (no chance for Cruz to even come close either), will the GOPe toss Ted the nomination as a reward for doing their dirty work?

No. They'll give it to Romney or Ryan or whichever hack they choose, knowing full-well that such a move will give Hillary the White House, which doesn't bother them anyway.

I agree.

There are only two sides, Trump and the anti Trump. Perhaps Cruz is a means to an end, but he is far and away the best candidate to upset the GOPe. Trump is a “deal maker” and will produce unprincipled results. I don’t hate the guy, I just think that he is an unprincipled, pragmatic type who in the long run, “loves” the country less than he loves himself.

As a result of the National Enquirer story Cruz has completely gone off the rails. Whatever chance he had is now gone and he knows it. But he is a fraud and now just a tool of the GOPe. With Fiorina he looked like a little boy being rescued by his mother after getting caught shoplifting.

If you take a look at the numbers, Trump has actually gotten nearly three times as many votes as Cruz. We have an archaic primary method that frankly needs to be scrapped. It is nothing more that a method to keep the voters feeling like they are participating in an election while letting the party bosses stay firmly in control.

Dropping out before his opponent reaches 1237 is very "un-Zaglike" in my opinion. You keep fighting until one reaches the finish line @ 1237.

A knockdown, drag-out fight to the finish, knowing that you’ll never win, makes for great boxing movies, but in reality it could damage our side irreparably for the general.

“Cruz really should just drop out, if he gives a damn about this country.”

If purists (who never turn out to be pure for some reason) can’t get their way it’s Apocalypse NOW! They have an all-or-nothing death wish thing going on behind their well-beseeming facade.

Well if you believe that, then a man that would lie, and force his wife to lie, about cheating on his wife and kids is the best guy for you.
