That article wasn’t for his supporters.
That article was for undecideds, independents, and blue dog Democrats.
He can take the hits from the WaPo, because those people will read the article, where they will not read the Washington Times, and they will see things in his positions they will like. A lot.
It was a brilliant strategy, and only an outsider can get away with that.

I believe there will be cheating in Utah.

Interestingly, there is a Mormon stronghold in Utah.

But, the anti Trump articles are free to bunch up...two stories of the same poll put negatively against Trump separated by one other article...doesn’t seem fair moderator. Most people actually just look at the articles that are posted on the first page. So, it is new within a couple hours anyway...

That is so stupid and asinine.
The Mormon church leaders are not allowed to say anything about politics. They don’t take political positions and normally won’t even let close associates know who they have voted for in elections. They do take stands on morality issues but that is not the same thing as endorsing a candidate.
Mormons are Republican and Democrat, Harry Reid is a Democrat Mormon. I don’t think Mitt Romney holds much sway with Mormons, all of them I talk to can’t stand him now.
Many Mormons really like Cruz because he believes in the rule of law and that is something Mormons espouse. I too like Cruz but think he is done and would rather he decided to help Trump get to 1237 and then be named to the Supreme Court. My wife is a Mormon and she likes Cruz but nobody in her church has even spoken to her about it.

Even if you accept that they did this out of anger towards Trump (which there is no evidence of) then you have to admit they are extremely violent and angry kooks with a hair trigger, ready to go off an kill at the slightest provocation.
