Posted on 03/15/2016 10:52:59 AM PDT by Rational Thought

The Anti Trump "War on Women" ad, being given tons of free air time by all the cable news channels, is from "Our Principles Pac", a Pac tied to Mitt Romney, and funded primarily by Marlene Ricketts.

Marlene Ricketts is the owner of the Chicago Cubs, and mother of the current Nebraska Governor, Pete Ricketts. Her Husband, Joe Ricketts, is the founder of TD Ameritrade.

Who is behind that ad is irrelevant. What is relevant is the impact the ad, and the context it contains, will have on Trump.

This is the stuff we can expect the Democrats to thrown at Trump in a general election, so it's better to find out now whether he can weather that storm, or not. If it damages him significantly in the primaries, then you can rest assured its impact in the general election would be even more devastating. General election voters include a bunch of moderates likely to be even more sensitive to that kind of tactic.

Better it runs now.

It's not a question of being "happy" about the ads. But the people who made the ad didn't make up Trump's statements. They're out there, for anyone to use. The truth is that these are the kind of things, and worse, the Democrats are going to run against Trump in the fall. If he can't handle them and stumbles, isn't it better to know that now? Let's see if he can parry those ads effectively and (perhaps) say fewer things like this to avoid giving them additional ammo.

Not at all surprising that Romney and his ilk would pick up the refrain of the Democrats in attacking an American. Just one more indication that the GOPe leaders ain’t as smart as they’ve been accused of being.

What part of the ad was untrue? Were some of the quotes not his?

All of the quotes were 100% accurate Donald Trump statements. The conservatives who actually use their brains have known all along of the existence of these statements (all on audio, most - if not all - on video). We have been warning you for months that this is one of the reasons Doanld Trump should not be considered to represent the Republican Party.

But it's not going to matter to many Trump supporters.

Trump is a misogynist - but you're supporting Trump because you're angry.

Trump has financially supported John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, Charlie Rangle and a boatload of other liberal Democrats - but you're supporting Trump because you're angry.

Trump has been a soulless salesman without integrity or principles his entire life - but you're supporting Trump because you're angry.

Trump has been an insider Establishment dealmaker his entire adult life - but you're supporting Trump because you're angry.

Trump is a pro-choice Planned Parenthood supporter - but you're supporting Trump because you're angry.

Trump says he can get along with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid & Chuck Schumer, calls Ted Cruz a liar and thinks George W. Bush should have been impeached - but you're supporting Trump because you're angry.

Trump has never asked God for forgiveness and has never seen the need to have asked God for forgiveness - but you're supporting Trump because you're angry.

Trump says he will balance the budget by cutting some items by 800% - but you're supporting Trump because you're angry.

Well, I'm angry, too. But I can see that Donald Trump is selling a bill of goods to people he believes to be a bunch of rubes and will betray conservatism and the Republican Party.

And if you think you are angry now, just wait...

What is untrue. Did Trump say all those things or did he not?

He’s your boy...you get to embrace him with all of his warts...and all that may entail.

(Side note...don’t come whining when he gets his tail kicked in the general election. We’ve been trying to warn y’all for months.)

Cue further attacks on me or the authors of this ad in 3....2....1....

The problem with the ad it this: in his nearly 70 years, they dug up a half a dozen quotes and spoke them dramatically, no audiotapes to hear whether he was kidding, being sarcastic or sounding sincere. Then, although they were specific remarks in context, they generalized outward and claimed they are in the present moment and about all women: "our mothers, our daughters, our sisters..." Typical Marxist collectivist Democrat clap trap, which should be beneath Romney, but isn't -- he is supposedly the source of much of the trashing of Sarah Palin. Which you cruzbots are now lapping up. Classy.

Trump was very specific in calling Rosie O'Donnell a fat pig and so on, as she had started the war of words on The View and had been giving as well as she got. The meaning of the Megyn Kelly "whatever" thing is unsubstantiated on its face. The "on her knees" thing was even defended by the person herself, who was an Apprentice contender and knew the context was a joke. Carly Fiorina caved to femnazi indignation rather than just returning his baloney about her face with "In your dreams, Donny" or some other little cut that would show she has an ounce of self-confidence. The rest I haven't bothered with, because they are either more than 20 or 25 years old (the "I don't raise chidren" thing and the Princess Diana thing). That leaves one or two improvident statements in the past 50 years of adult life that I haven't been able to track down the context for.

In short, what bulls**t.

Who cares? I’m Trumps age, and I guarantee you I’ve said some stuff that would make a trucker cry.

Neither I nor Trump have lived their lives a born and bred politician like some...

It doesn’t matter if it is b.s. or not. What matters is what effect an ad like that would have in the general election. If Trump choses to respond to that as with your explanation, fine. I guess we’d have to see how that plays.

I don't know how fair it is to use quotes from Howard Stern, or as a character in a TV show.

But, if this your reason to support an establishment candidate over Trump, then I guess the ad worked.

Thinking about it, some people like their candidates to be politically correct at all times.

The MSM just throws out anything to see what sticks. People in general should know they lie, distort, ignore or cast innuendos here and there mostly on Republicans and conservatives.

Undecided voters who may determine the result of the general election?

Well, nobody cares what you've said because you're not running for President. I also heard/used much worse in the Marine Corps, but nobody cares about that either. Language that is commonplace for Marines isn't what some folks want to gear from their President.
