Protests of illegal immigration into the United States are peculiar because the wrong groups are protesting.
Most of those protesting immigration are white folks who don’t want the entry level jobs the illegal immigrants usually take, particularly those involving manual labor or domestic service. These jobs are the type of jobs young blacks need to enter the labor force. Members of ethnic groups trying to enter the American labor force often begin with the least desirable jobs so that their children can have an opportunity for better jobs later. The loss of entry level jobs to illegal immigrants is keeping black unemployment higher than it should be. Hispanic ancestry citizens and those who are in the country legally also can lose jobs to those who are in the country illegally.

I get the point of the article and generally agree with the sentiment that more minorities should care, but the headline and opening I disagree with. There is no such thing as a “wrong group” protesting illegal immigration. It’s illegal, everyone who is law abiding should be against it, including whites.
Yes, young blacks should be protesting. But many American citizens with established landscaping/gardening, painting, and house cleaning businesses lost their livelihoods when cheap Mexican labor was available.
He assumes people want to work.

I don’t know what fantasy world these people live in, but assuming that somehow ‘white privilege’ makes people immune to needing a job is the most common real racism out there. Many many people got their first jobs washing dishes, making beds, or even picking in the fields. Those aren’t black or latino - they’re entry level jobs.

Illegal entry into the United States should be permitted because white folks don’t want menial labor jobs? Is THAT the criteria? Hahahahaaaa!!! WHAT A FARCE.
Apparently “illegal” only pertains to people occupying deserted federal buildings.
Trump just kicked off the effort to bring blacks around to the fact that the Democrat Open Border policies are DOUBLE CROSSING them and forcing them into a useless life on the dole (and no, most blacks, like whites, prefer to be gainfully employed).
The other Republicans had OVER A DECADE to do the same, but they asked Al Sharpton for permission to take that approach, and he turned them down.
But Mr. Sharpton did give GOPe types another path, called “Prison Reform”, where you release hundreds of thousands of felons back into their communities so they can rape and kill again - and so that is where the non-Trump Republicans are now heading.

Do blacks as a whole WANT to work? They seem satisfied that the Dems have corralled them onto the Dem plantation of gov’t payouts. You’d THINK they’d be P*SSED OFF at that or the fact the Dems have DISPLACED them with illegal aliens but they continue to fight FOR their plantation owners, not AGAINST.
You won’t get their attention talking about jobs. Tell them the illegals are scooping up all the latest Nike’s and there will be real trouble.
I see the point of the article also, but whites care that blacks are being supplanted by illegal immigrants taking the entry-level jobs that all young people need...blacks and whites! So, whites need to speak up for our young people being shut out of the job market.
I hate the black and white arguments. An art teacher told me once that there is no absolute black in nature. The only really white people we have are albinos, and they are more pink than white. So, we don’t really have black and white people. We are all one shade or another of brown.

Agreed that it’s stupid. Illegal immigration isn’t just about stealing entry level jobs. It’s about the economic drain they put on the entire working class.
Well, if Republicans REFUSE TO LIFT A FINGER to help blacks, then yes, they will stick with the Dems, who at least promise handouts, meager as they are.
But if Republicans are able to give them some REAL HOPE (for gainful employment), then things just may be different.
