We must understand and return our government to the principles upon which our nation was built if we are to fight the current trend toward tyranny that is eroding our freedoms. In order to restore and maintain the constitutional republic established by Americaâs Founders, we must encourage todayâs educators to teach the principles of liberty.
The U.S. Constitution was, at its inception, built upon the principles set forth in the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration is our national birth certificate and the principles embedded in it are the supporting pillars of our Constitution.
Of primary importance among these principles is the phrase âthe Laws of Nature and of Natureâs God.â At the time the Declaration was written, Natural Law was understood to be that which governs the universe without flaw or defect in the absence of our Creatorâs direct intervention. Because of this truth, these âLaws of Natureâ cannot be violated without consequence. Our Founders understood this very clearly.
The principles of Natural Law in the Declaration were meant to exemplify the cornerstone of equality for all people. The phrase âall men are created equalâ meant that they had equal standing before God, before the law and in their inalienable God-given rights. However, being âcreated equalâ has nothing to do with equality of outcome or situation which todayâs politicians hold up as a testament to fairness. The consequences of this and other violations of Natural Law-always directly related to our actions-are inevitably disastrous.
Bertrand Russell said, âEvery government that has been in control of education...

But how do you make today’s people the same as 1776 when today they come from political systems that don’t value freedom? How do they become self sufficient when we put them in an economy that no longer farms for a living?
money = jobs
jobs = money
There's not a ONE of us here that believes if they only had enough money to ....
Or their job paid X in order to ....
We really DO have a small, subliminal socialist mindset in our brains .... regarding ourselves
We don't want to give to others so much nor take from others .... but if only we HAD .... X
and it all boils down to ... money ... which to an American is a (sufficiently paying) job
By all standards it is not one that satisfies our needs. It must also satisfy our wants, and that is where the real problems come into play. For many there is no satisfying the wants. Even I sometimes get caught up in wanting way more than my budget can handle. As I get older it becomes easier to control that urge, but only because I have had to endure the pains when that restraint was not present.
When I awoke in the late 50's early 60's, though I had no comprehension of just about anything except that I had learned to masturbate and girls smelled good .... I had this innate sense that life was a wonderful thing and that anything I wanted could be had
I grew up with, "You too could grow up to be President of The United States" ... and I think most children in America felt, thought and believed that way
Our high school days were "Happy Days" and Leave It To Beaver moms that stayed home and we still lived in relatively comfortable conditions.
I knew nothing of Appalachia, nor Africa ...but I DID know Russians were communists and they stretched babies between two horses until he pulled apart
Then came the sixties ... and the education they gave us started to fall into place
We analyzed and thought thoughts and spoke out (a little fearful 'cause we were still essentially teenagers under Dad and Mom) .... but we were learning ... and growing.
And we sTILL Had the wealth and comfort of America
evil elements entered the scene to confuse us and mis/re- direct us until the simplicity of America became complicated
We got a little older
For the most part, we had money because we had jobs and THAT was what allowed American youth to continue to develop a political consciousness
Up until then, it was pretty much what Dad drove, I drove ... how Dad voted, I voted, What church Mom and Dad went to (or sent us to) is what we went to
Now, on a mass scale, the youth of an entire nation had started to think and act on it's own and we were not necessarily in line with the government ... which we were starting to think was the power that be and not a government
MAJOR effort and funds were channeled into screwing with out prurient interests which ... we didn't mind ... 'cause it sure DID feel good and we would do it.
THAT conditioning process developed an unrealistic set of wants and/vs needs .... which is where we are today
Your comment, my FRiend is exactly what was supposed to happen ....
We were way-layed during the years we COULD have been more effective in stopping the NEA and the evil politics ... but we had a family and a job and responsibility ...
I feel like Charles Krauthammer .... my body is SO wasted, but my mind and tongue still work
“I feel like Charles Krauthammer .... my body is SO wasted, but my mind and tongue still work “
Are you a paraplegic yourself? How nice that you can relate to Mr. K!
dying from emphysema
Ugh! Sorry to hear it. I’ve seen it before. Wishing you the best for all of the time you have left.
Did we, or were we convinced into believing that is what we were doing, when the reality is were we being led by the nose to begin the overthrow of this great country?
The communists saw the perfect vehicle, the Viet Nam war, to seize and steer America's children into fighting against the system. We were cajoled into believing our system was corrupt and required radical changes.
We certainly were successful and thought we were oh so smart as well. The reality is we were stupid and deserve a large amount of the blame for the condition this country finds itself in today. Some from that era remain as stupid today as they were back then, while others finally have realized just how wrong we were.
I can remember a 4th of July celebration on the nation's mall, and Bob Hope was on stage. People started yelling F Bob Hope because he had the temerity to entertain the troops in combat. I became disgusted and left because I wanted no part of that stupidity. I remember admonishing my friends who had stayed, just how disappointed I was that they did not leave as well.
Those same people leading those charges against this country are who eventually gained control. I hold the same contempt for them today as I did then. They introduced, or at the very least expanded, the corruption they had railed against. That corruption is now pervasive in governments at all level.
One last thing, I did not need to know any of the information you provided at the start, for I don't care nor did it add a thing to the discussion.
We're (doc and I) conversing about lung volume reduction surgery .... cut out the dead stuff and open the chest cavity up for EASIER function of the remaining lung
It doesn't prolong life, but makes the breathing operation easier, allowing for more physical activity
Based on what I know and how I feel ... 5 years anyway .... but the disease is incurable and I notice a difference today from last year ...
Sorry for my offensive literary license
I figured since you were on this board that you no longer, if ever, identified with the rebel rousing communists I refer to them as now.
I to this day would love to see Jane Fonda strung up. I despise that woman to no end. The only redeeming aspect of her is that supposedly she found God, finally. Better late than never. If she would now admit how wrong she was and ask for forgiveness, I could then allow my animosity towards her evaporate.
Sorry that I missed the implied or alluded manipulation within your post. Perhaps I was just too focused on that particular statement, about us learning, to notice the subtlety. I usually though have to be in the right frame of mind to even catch them.
The Laws of Nature and Nature’s God apply to all, including those in government, at all times.
