The High Cost of a Bad Reputation
The Patriot Post ^ | 1/16/16 | Peggy Noonan

This isn't what the column's about, but should be said: It was strange Tuesday night to see the Republican chosen to give the State of the Union response go after the front-runner in her party's presidential primary. But then this is a strange year. South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said that during "anxious times," the party should not follow “the angriest voices." She didn't name Donald Trump but later said her remark was "partially" aimed at him.[snip]...With one caveat. She later revealed that, like an obedient person not quite in tune with the spirit of the times, she had cleared her remarks with Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. Ugh. Never clear your work with the guys in Washington, and if they tell you that's the price of making the speech, don't make it — and tell people why. Clear your thoughts with no one, like a classy independent woman.

I was watching Nikki on news clips and all I saw and heard was a Mitch or Paul or Reinse in a skirt!

She lost me when she caved and shot the finger at her own states soldiers who despite being from the jump on an impossible mission they enlisted voluntarily and fought bravely and with honor. History is what it is and revisionist Liberal’s like Nikki besmirching and trivializing these mens(and boys) honor and sacrifice makes me ill.

My great grandfather, his son and his brother rode off one Sunday in 1861 from the old homestead in Spicewood, Texas and only one of them came back. So, a hardy FY to you Nikki Haley and thanks for validating one more reason to believe that there is little difference between a Republican and a Democrat.

To a Liberal Yes!

To me I’m defending a legacy of courage, HONOR and sacrifice.

I tell my son, “try to imagine the courage of a young boy standing in that long gray line line minutes before a Yankee officer gives the “charge” order knowing for certain that that massive blue army he was facing a couple hundred yards away, and that far outnumbers his, and that was enormously better equipped, was surely going to KILL him and end his young life in minutes”.

Nikki Haley and others like her, to pick up a vote or two, peed on soldiers like this ones legacy. Those of us who understand that should not sit silently by.
