Regarding the Middle East and its oil, the late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saed Al Maktoum, longtime Emir of Dubai and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, once famously remarked:
âMy grandfather rode a camel, my father rode a camel, I drive a Mercedes, my son drives a Land Rover, his son will drive a Land Rover, but his son will ride a camel.â
Itâs an apt reminder of the finite nature of oil resources, and, of course, the wealth it brings. But, and this is what the Sheikh was getting at, itâs also a call for prudence and thoughtful transformation. Outside of Dubai, the overhaul of oil-based economies is wholly incomplete, but itâs an idea that holds no less relevance as the region prepares for what could be an even greater challenge: climate change.

None of this matters to a population that has already taken over Europe.
Already in crisis, and no “could”.
No problem. After they have destroyed the western economies and enslaved the infidels, oil consumption will be negligible. They will go back to riding camels and continuing to screw goats.
I wonder who the moslems that are invading Europe will have to build all of the mechanical things they like and envy once they have imposed their caliphate? Through their destructive ways, especially ISIS, can one expect the factories to be preserved and workers found to work in them?
As politically hot as the M.E. is, oil output in 2100 is the last thing to worry about.
Survival and habitability, that’s the worrisome duo.
They will be herding in Londonistan by then, so it won’t matter.
Let’s wait and see what the region looks like once Putin is finished with ISIS before speculating about rides.
In view of the recent airline downing, everyone there may be riding a fireball in the not-too-distant future.
