Janette Gonzalez initially posted the picture of the emaciated dogs to Instagram and Facebook on Tuesday, about an hour after it was taken by her friend in the 8900 block of Coffman Pico Road. The dogs were possibly pit bulls.
“It’s one of the saddest things just because … I have dogs of my own, I work at a dog store, so I can’t picture – especially puppies – going through that," she told KTLA.

Very sad that someone would neglect dogs like that.
According to the article, there were 9 dogs rescued from the property.
I hope the dog abusers are arrested and prosecuted! There is no excuse for the condition of those dogs.
Those poor pups in that photo are some of the worst I’ve ever seen. What’s amazing is that they were still alive.

I know this area fairly well, just east of Los Angeles. I strongly suspect these people are welfare pigs who are living off of food stamps. Food stamps don’t cover dog food so the dogs starve. Simple as that.
I have never seen dogs that skinny.
Why have dogs that you cannot feed?

I saw the photo yesterday, its just disgusting what people can do to animals(Heck I see everyday what people do to the unborn so I cant say I am surprised) Pico Rivera is 100 percent Hispanic a pretty crappy neighborhood don’t want to be there during the day(Or at night for that matter) poor dogs :(

They use them as guard dogs.
If you knew about the type of people living in many parts of Pico Rivera you wouldn't need to ask that question. I guarantee these guys are from south of the border where this kind of thing is tolerated and no one even bats an eyebrow.
I've got three...and getting even one of them to stay still long enough for a decent photo in the company of the other two is impossible!
I can get one picture of each...alone...but zero of all together.
The bottom picture is of my last crew and they died of old age. The top picture is of my current crew.
They are in the truck because we drive about 3-4 miles every morning for a hike in the woods. They are trained not to exit the truck until I say so. They are all rescued dogs.
I love my doggies.
During Katrina, I was really torn over the pain and suffering I saw in the TV coverage. I was so concerned with what I saw, that I donated money to save........... the animals. I guess I wasn’t so concerned with to humans.

I have..one I adopted almost 14 years ago and another that we found on the side of the road while riding motorcycles. We stopped, went to the dollar store and bought a bag of food,
then parked somewhere safe to start looking for someone to call on a Sunday morning out in the middle of nowhere.
A family stopped on their way to church to ask if we needed help. They made a call to a family member...then that person to a rescue person.
When we went back on our way home, the pup was gone and they left some marks on the ground to let us know they got the poor thing.
Sometimes the least we can do is all it takes.
