Clear Sign Trump Wants 'Out': Put Up or Shut Up
The Huffington Post's Entertainment The Blog ^ | October 7, 2015 | Paul Abrams

Spending nary a dime, Donald Trump has leapfrogged a large field of presidential wannabees to take a commanding lead in the race for the Republican nomination for president.

Anyone in that position who had unlimited financial resources and who truly wanted to win the nomination would have already unleashed wall-to-wall ads in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada, and would be assembling a massive ground-game in those states.

Why? Because if Trump won those primaries convincingly, it would be all over but the shouting.

Such a candidate would also be fielding ads and building organization in the compressed March 1-15th states where delegates will be handed out proportionally to build an uncatchable lead.

No one else can do this because they are donor-dependent and the donors want to see evidence of feasibility in early states to hedge their bets.

But, the Donald's only donor is himself. And, it does not seem that himself is taking the Donald's candidacy seriously enough to invest.

Two hundred million deployed now could wrap it all up for him....

What a jack ass of a writer.

With a 10 to 20 point lead, he needs to spend money unnecessarily?

Huffnpuff doesn’t understand how this man can claim he could build a wall for less than the current estimate. They think he is supposed to waste money and line the pockets of crony political marketers, like crony politicians usually do.

Ok, just to make sure I’ve got this. Trump has a commanding lead without spending hardly anything. If he was serious, he would spend a lot of money to build the infrastructure a traditional candidate does? That about it?

He has them at wits end.

Not hard to do to liberals, considering their wits start at the half-way point

Paul Abrams has too much time on his hands. Idle thinking can cause stress and psychosis.

What twits

SHE ... as well as everyone else on the planet ... has GIVEN President Trump all the time, money and exposure any candidate could ever want to elect him.

Trump is President because his enemies elected him .... he never had to spend a dime

He doesn’t need to spend money. Networks are giving him plenty of free coverage.

There is such a thing as overexposure, eventually the buzz around Trump will die down, and that’s when he can start spending.

Beware the candidacy of Howard Dean. It sure did look good from the outside until the first votes were cast. Turned out there was no there, there.

While I don’t think Donald has to do everything a conventional campaign does, he certainly has to start realizing that converting poll results to actual votes requires something else. A ground game is uber important.

They can’t figure out a non traditional campaign, especially one self funded. If Trup pays for his air travel to Trump Air, who is he paying? Himself thru one of his companies. He neither looses or gains. He is not really spending. The business simply writes off corporate expenses, and profits go back to Trump. What a deal.

I’m sure Trump would love to run ads but they would take away from the TV time he is already getting. Every time I turn on a news station - there he is.

I suppose he thinks Trump should buy adds in the Huffington Post.

I don't know what is p*$$*ng off the enemedia worse. The fact that he is gaining in popularity just by throwing their crap back in their faces? Or the fact that he won't buy advertising with them?

Sez who?

Bush has a stockpile, and he hasn't been blasting yet, has he?

And how did that early spending work out for Walker?

The Donald has gotten almost NON-STOP coverage ever since he got in the race, there is simply not enough money in the world to BUY that much coverage.

And it has all been at very little personal expense to him. Oh, he has to show up, but he NEVER fails to deliver.

When The Donald has to get on promotional spots to advertise his campaign, he will be pretty sure he has it sewed up.

If he doesn’t a ton they’d say he’s buying the nomination.
