This happened Tuesday at a Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing, during which Sierra Club president Aaron Mair, who holds bachelor’s degrees in History and Sociology and is most certainly no scientist, has testified about the necessity of the EPA and its push for climate change regulations no matter who – including racial minorities and especially people who look a lot like Mair – is harmed by the economic cost of those regulations.
Cruz, having endured this pontificating by the Sierra Club president, commences to ask some very basic questions of Mair – specifically surrounding the query that if global warming is such an ongoing catastrophe how come satellite data don’t show any warming of note?
Hilarity ensues, as it becomes clear that Aaron Mair, who runs an organization largely built around the idea that, as he says, the planet is “cooking and warming and heating,” has absolutely no idea what in the blooming hell he is talking about.
And at the end, Delaware Democrat Chris Coons attempts to rehabilitate Mair by saying that since the subject of the hearing is the effect overregulation has on minorities it’s not that important for him to have offered his knowledge on global warming. Cruz’ response to Coons is almost as devastating as his demolition of Mair.
It would not be a surprise for Mair’s career at the Sierra Club to end quietly after what Cruz did to him in this hearing.

He’s my clear choice for President.
Although I insist he be held accountable for favoring TPA TPP expediency.

The SC guy kept saying 97% of scientists.....even mentioned Union of Concerned Scientists once. At one time I read over the list and qualifications of those “scientists” in the union. Pitiful pedigrees in large part - mostly nothing to do with any expertise in so-called AGW. IOW, a political science degree or history degree does not a “scientist” make.
Reminds me of the so-called 400 Constitutional Scholars who took out a full page NYT ad in 1998 that effectively said “..a Bl@w J@b is not an impeachable offense...”

I’d say that Mair looked like a brainless leftist idiot parroting the same lines that the Obama administration has been spewing all along about the climate change for profit scheme in the hands of Cruz. Mair won’t have a job soon. Its obvious he’s made his decison anut the climate issue based on skin color and political party rather than the facts.
This is so bad for the Sierra Club. If a Republican group had been exposed as being so Godzilla-awful stupid, we would be seeing it for days and into the years on the MSM.
I keep saying that none of these folks that believe in global warming can explain it. Because it is BS.

Cruz nailed it when he said they have some stake in this for a government grant, contract, consulting, etc. He should also add those who a just plain politically rabid bent over to the side of progressive liberalism.
I’ve been all over their site and it names the principals in the so-called nonprofit along with some other ‘experts’ they list....but there isn’t an comprehensive list of the 117,000 members they claim to have.
One curious thing. In their beg/donate page they say [paraphrasing] “we survive on donations like yours because we don’t take money from government, etc.” Yet when you drill down to some of the staff and units, there actually is a group set up to help members and member organizations to secure grants, contracts, awards, consulting, etc.....
