In immigration litigation pitting Texas and 25 other states against the Obama administration, the U.S. Department of Justice filed a memorandum arguing that U.S. District Judge Andrew S. Hanen should not impose punitive sanctions against the federal government. Nor should Hanen, who sits in Brownsville, reduce from three years to two the time allowed on work permits that the federal government already has issued to some 108,000 immigrants, DOJ lawyers argue.
In the memorandum, the DOJ lawyers write that punitive sanctions would not be justified as a response to their previous "unintentional miscommunication" to Hanen about the federal government's flawed efforts to comply with an injunction he issued in February.

I have heard that the wheels of justice grind slowly but this is nuts. I’ll be dead and nothing but powder by the time this thing is over.
They are LIARS!!! they should be imprisoned. Hanen will kick their ass so they will never lie to a Federal Judge Again.
This is why you need Cruz as AG.
...”unintentional miscommunication”...
Obama Justice Department double speak for outright lies.
Slap them hard.
“We have a right to lie.”
That is correct
With that the Juge should Immediately find ALLOFTHEM in Contempt and JAIL every last one of the lawyers and officials involved. 30 days would be a good start!
this is why we need Cruz as President!
The DO”J” has enabled voter fraud,
fast and furious murders,
murders of LEO,
obstruction of justice,
treason,
but will NOT obey a FEDERAL Judge.
America would be better served by Whitey Bulger
or any common criminal than the DO”J” which
exponentially is increasing felonies and treason.
if Kim Davis can be thrown in jail then time to do the same to Loretta lynch as she is willfully disobeying a judge’s order
If you or I misspeak, are we given the benefit of the doubt, or are we pilloried and punished?
Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. You lied to a judge, you should go to jail. End of story.
Id end thenchrade and throw their asses in jail. For a very long tkme.
The U.S. Department of Labor has agreed to pay $1.5 million to a Corpus Christi company and its owner after the Fifth Circuit sanctioned the federal government for bad faith in suit alleging the company violated overtime laws.
Lawyers for the U.S. State Department on Monday clashed with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher partner Ted Olson, who recently accused the agency of disobeying court orders in a lawsuit over records related to Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state. “The Department of State is not a for-profit law firm whose clients are billed for services rendered,” Justice Department lawyers wrote in papers responding to Olson's claims.
And yet the DOJ can ignore another judges order for a year and ask to use a Get Out of jail card?
we now get to see how judge hanen reacts to the cayman islands offshore account ploy
or perhaps the always popular “we just discovered some kiddie porn on your office computer” ploy
This was just a lie. It wasn’t something done in the heat of the moment or slip of the tongue. It required a lot of coordinated effort by numerous people.
Sounds like a conspiracy to me.
I understand what you’re saying. I was trying to demonstrate how disproportionate the consequences are for you or me if we make a small mistake while testifying, as opposed to the outrageous lies these people seem to get away with regularly.
