Explaining Donald Trump

Shaking up the race, Forcing Republicans out of their box, Bringing illegal immigration issue back into awareness, Focal point to articulate and direct the anger of regular Americans against the sclerotic, out of touch politico-media establishment

For the last six weeks or so, Donald Trump has been The Phenomenon in the Republican primary battle. He’s been the guy getting all the attention. He’s been the candidate who has sucked away the oxygen from all the rest like a forest fire. He’s built up a pretty sizeable fan base with his bombastic attacks on illegal immigration, the GOP establishment, and the sorry state of American politics in general.

The political establishment absolutely hates him: The Republican “leadership” hates him for taking the discussion about issues outside of the narrow comfort zone they were trying to force it into, and the Democrats hate him because he’s “woke up” a lot of otherwise apathetic people in this country and gotten them to thinking about things like how bad illegal immigration and “free” trade are for them. It has gotten so bad that Fox News had to send out their reliably establishmentarian hack Megyn Kelly to alternately play the attack dog and the wounded lamb in an effort to kneecap The Donald.

This just about sums it up.

Trump was on CNN with Jake Tapper a little while ago and he basically said in reference to the Cruella Kelly blood remark and if it was in reference to her period “of course not. Who talks like that?” So true. End of discussion.

‘... He’s built up a pretty sizeable fan base with his bombastic attacks on illegal immigration, the GOP establishment, and the sorry state of American politics in general. ‘

Yes, he has. And as I’ve said before; I doubt if he’s electable, but I’m enjoying the h*ll out of watching him make Rino/Libs heads explode.
Nobody else has the guts to tell the real truth like Trump..

I believe he will get the nomination especially after the Megyn Kelly “war on women” question. The majority of Americans are fed up with illegals and the PC police.

Make America Great Again.

The Trumpster is back, and he’s going to be a force to be reckoned with...

I’ve got the popcorn and pepsi ready and I’m sitting back and watching the ‘phonies’ fall out of the sky...

So many of the common folks identify with Trump. This is also because Trump evidently shares the attitude held by most Americans toward the “political game.” You know what I mean by that. The political game is the carefully choreographed circuit of political talk shows, polling, sound bites, and carefully established limits of what you can and cannot say in “polite discourse.” The political game has been artfully set into place so as to keep any expression of the real opinions held by Americans of the wrong sort (you know, like you and me) from taking place. It’s there to reinforce the Democrat/establishment Republican version of how American politics should work. And frankly, most Americans think it’s ridiculous and laughable.

Worth reading rest at link.

Some people may be offended by what I am about to write, but I feel it necessary to express my obviously biased view against New Yorkers. Specifically, I am referring to those people who are raised and educated in the confines of New York City. Throughout my life, my experiences with NYC people is that they are aggressive, abrasive and often downright rude. That description may not apply to all of them or perhaps even a majority, but Donald Trumps personality hits it right on the head. He is irritating to listen to and offensive in the manner that he describes people who disagree with him. All in all, he is product of his environment and will in the end turn off the country’s “flyover” voters.

Generally a good article but, like so many writers, this one hedges his positives on Trump by kissing him off as being able to get the nomination. They want Trump to do the in-ring fighting, but then they will accept him being thrown into the trash bin of history. My question is: If he is good for America today, why would he not be the same as President? These people want to use him and then trash him. At least, that is the message I'm getting.

Trump has made some mistakes. He should have pointed out in the debate how obviously the debate moderators were avoiding the real issues. He should have later thought out a response strategy instead of winging it on Twitter.

But definitely do not count him out as the possible Republican nominee. He’s made mistakes in business and then made come-backs to the tune of billions. He can get back his forceful momentum in this race and do it soon, but he needs to come up with a strategy and not wing it so much.

Cmon, Donald, you can do it. In the words of Ivana, don’t get even, get everything.

I think those that support Trump want rude for once. They want an unapologetic cheerleader for the USA, a man that will love the USA from the gut, that will be willing to set his wonderful life aside for the sake of the country.

Those who support him have already considered the fact that he is rude, loud, obnoxious, abusive and completely not politically correct. Our investment in Trump comes AFTER we have already known for years what he is, how he is, how he deals with problems, with those that attack him, with business situations, and the rest of it.

So very well stated.

That’s exactly correct. It’s completely illogical & It’s disgraceful to be so blatantly duplicitous.

This precisely why he should kick the GOPe to the curb. Let the SoCons try & get the nomination away from Jebito. Either way, if Trump is third party neither one of them will make it into the WH. Trump will.

A vote for a third party Trump is the same as a vote for Hillary. That is what happened when a vote for Perot was a vote for Bill Clinton. Democrats are doing everything they can to promote a Trump third party candidacy.
