Hillary Clinton Lives the High Life While Unpaid Staffers Struggle to Survive
Washington Beacon ^ | June 29, 2015 | Andrew Stiles

The Hillary Clinton campaign likes to brag about its frugal ways, but this austere philosophy is not applied consistently. Campaign manager John Podesta may take the bus every now and then, but the Clinton campaign is more than happy to pick up the rent tab for Hillary’s personal office in Manhattan and to shell out for a private jet to make sure Hillary doesn’t have to interact with any commoners before giving a speech on social inequality.

Meanwhile, the campaign has developed a fondness for unpaid interns, and is increasingly hesitant to pay even experienced employees who have previously held paid positions on Democratic campaigns. Some have dared to speak out, demanding to be paid, to be saved from squalor. The campaign’s refusal to value its employees is causing problems for the flock of young staffers who are trying to find living quarters near the campaign headquarters in Brooklyn, where rent prices are so high that even their wealthy parents are reluctant to foot the bill. The New York Times reports [emphasis added]:

For decades, idealistic twenty-somethings have shunned higher-paying and more permanent jobs for the altruism and adrenaline rush of working to get a candidate to the White House. But the staffers who have signed up for the Clinton campaign face a daunting obstacle: the New York City real estate market…

I was told by several FReepers there was no point in making posts about Hillary and the Democrats. All my work to post whatever article I could find about Hillary would be a waste of time, a sisyphean, pointless effort. Nothing seems to effect her standing with the American people. It may be true. So, I should give up simply because there's no hope at beating her or any Democrat in 2016? That because nothing seems to effect her standing I should just stop posting about her because it's all a waste of time? Well, no, I don't think so.

Keep up the good work. It’s important to keep people looking at the REAL enemy. For every negative article on Democrats here there are about a hundred negative articles about Republicans.

I completely disagree. The problem with Hillary is her age: she will be 69 years old (and totally unknown health) less than a month before Election Day 2016.

One wonders will there be an attempt "draft" Gavin Newsom, the former Mayor of San Francisco and now Lt. Governor of California, as a possible Presidential candidate. He's WAY younger than Hillary Clinton, and that will make him a more viable candidate among younger voters.

If a person does not know by now that the Clintons are a evil, greedy, criminal enterprise then they must have the IQ of a fence post.

The worst part of this is - these stupid people do it and then complain. It must be a trademark of the Democrats to not pay their help or their own bills.

who_would_fardels_bear;
You certainly impress me as being a most erudite, literary aficionado.

In the heavy cross that I bear continuing on in my quest ,I may very well end up like Sisyphus in matters of politics but I can tell you unequivocally that I won't end up at all happy.

Thank you most kindly for your fascinating comments.

Leon Bryce

The Myth of Sisyphus
Chapter 4: The Myth of Sisyphus
Camus is interested in Sisyphus' thoughts when marching down the mountain, to start anew. This is the truly tragic moment, when the hero becomes conscious of his wretched condition.

He does not have hope, but "there is no fate that cannot be surmounted by scorn." Acknowledging the truth will conquer it; Sisyphus, just like the absurd man, keeps pushing. Camus claims that when Sisyphus acknowledges the futility of his task and the certainty of his fate, he is freed to realize the absurdity of his situation and to reach a state of contented acceptance. With a nod to the similarly cursed Greek hero Oedipus, Camus concludes that "all is well," indeed, that "one must imagine Sisyphus happy.

Keep them coming.

I still think somebody out there has some bombshell emails and is holding them until the right time. Although the emails will probably never go public, she'll be forced to give up her run. Publicly she'll announce it's a health issue, and she's not up to the grind of a campaign.
